Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
If SM can follow through with their stated goal of 80% owner serviceability I see that as a powerful marketing tool once production begins.

More importantly, I think it'll ultimately help brand prestige. High repair costs are what kill resale value on brands like BMW, Maserati, etc.
Create a desirable vehicle that's both reliable and affordable to maintain, and your brand will be worth more. I don't have much of a problem buying a $60k vehicle if it'll have good resale in 10 years, but I will NOT buy one that'll tank in value like some of the aforementioned brands. Obviously, this will be a bit of a gamble with Scout, so the devil will be in the details as we get closer to launch.

has it though? all I know is Rivian stock is crashing fast. they are gonna be a done deal if this finance report on the 12th comes back bad.

Makes me wonder where they'd be if they'd targeted the blue collar work truck/work van crowd more up front instead of pursuing the luxury market.

IMO the R2D2 wrap is previewing future available colors. People have spotted one with what looks like Canyon Red highlights, Compass Yellow, and here this bright blue color. Back at the San Jose reveal on 04/24 I talked to Rivian folks about colors. At the time they expected a somewhat simplified color palette given it's a higher volume product but admitted it will have a "signature" color. This could possibly be it. Either way, let's use Gemini to see what it could look like fully painted in that blue.

I will say I like the Rivian Blue, but that one is a bit too bright for me
I think this blue looks good for those who want to stand out, but I'm like you and more partial to Rivian Blue because it reminds me of a Porsche 356 color called Oslo Blue. RJ grew up restoring 356's so I have a theory Rivian Blue was directly inspired by the Porsche color.

I think CaseIH still owns it. I believe its a part on their bailers.
I couldn't find it associated with Case IH, or any company currently. Balers roll up hay, bailers get you out of jail 😁. Fun fact about your latest avatar Uncle Baby Billy, Walton Goggins was my neighbor for a little bit while he was in Charleston filming Righteous Gemstones. I see Danny McBride frequently around town.

I'd say that Rivian's stock price has been pretty stable for a bit now, its just really low compared to where they started. R2 would hopefully reverse that.
my stock was bought at 19.50. then it drops to 14.12. soooo stable. stable stock to me is growing or staying at base line. not dropping 5 dollars.

Both the Rivian and Bronco have similar blues (I think the bronco is Azure?) and I really love both of them, would jump all over it if something similar ended up on a Scout.
