  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

I’ve not watched the interview, but I could swear Jamie said the plan was 2+ so that might be possible though software down the line, it looks like there’s an eye tracker on the wheel column, which suggests the intention for hands free driving to some extent
He did. @Jamie@ScoutMotors can we please get clarification. In the newest interview “The Benj” says level 2 and you have stated level 2+. Which one will our Scouts have? Please and thank you.

I’m going to rely on Jamie’s number. How often in the heat of a conversation or presentation does anyone slip and not get an occasional word or point slightly skewed in the moment. Jamie posts stuff after reading and digesting. Chris was giving a response to a question and stated what his brain recalled at the moment

I agree. I think that’s more likely.

There's no standardized, official difference between Level 2 ADAS and Level 2+ ADAS. The term "Level 2+" is marketing.

I’m curious where they are expanding. Are they duplicating areas in high population areas or going out to fill the voids in the mid west/mountain regions. A mix of both would be best but hope their planning is solid to grow areas to increase EV adoption

Ionna is killing it. But also thats what happens when you have a few huge OEMs behind you.

They are really changing the game. Especially since most old gas stations are left to sit abandoned for year due to ground pollution and then they sit and rot after they replenish the old oil soaked soil with fresh. But Ionna seems to be buying and building.

I'm on travel. When I get some time I'll plot their stations to highlight where they are relative to other stations.

Most of their active stations are either Rechargery @ (name brand store) or relays which sit adjacent or on the same property as an active convenience store. They have very few Ionna rechargeries open... Getting their own locations off the ground has been much more difficult than they anticipated.

The red stars are Ionna’s registered stations. The brown dots are known DCFCs registered in the Alternative Fuels Database.

Ionna don’t appear to have many stations that create fundamentally new options. There are a few in somewhat unique areas a few tens of miles away from other DCFCs. A cursory, non-scientific estimate is that I70 through Kansas and into Colorado probably has the most unique stations.

That said, this is for the 55 stations they have built or have registered as to-be-built with the Alternative Fuels Database. What they’re doing next is not necessarily fully public.

Private charging companies are going to go where the customers are. Which creates the negative feedback loop. Some states aren’t supportive of EV charging stations so they’re not helping build them without federal dollars. So in some places there aren’t enough charging stations to entice customers to buy EVs. So private charging companies don’t see the value in putting charging stations there… And around and around that swirls into the drain.
