Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Great trip to Newport!

Thanks. All done with taxi duties today. Tomorrow just one pick up and one pick up and drop off. Snow should be done till Monday and the plows going through tonight should make it a lot better.

Okay I’m sure I have asked a similar question. So I get that the batteries are heavy and low so that helps but how will the Scout compare to my Wrangler in 4WD in the snow? Thanks!

Looks like we ended up with about 10 inches which was more than I was expecting.

The most similar vehicle to your Wrangler that I've driven in the past two decades in the snow is a TRD Off-Road 4WD Tacoma with dedicated snow tires.

The Lightning (bigger, heavier, street tires) performs better in the snow than the Tacoma ever did. Traction control in an EV can be quite a bit better with a whole host of improvements and much more rapid response times. If they're programmed properly.

I have no doubt the Scouts will have the proper programming.

Getting a thread started with really off-topic posts.

First up. We have two herds of elk that pass through every day or two.

The smaller herd of mostly younger bulls wandered through our back yard a few minutes ago.
Video link to be posted shortly.

Wow thanks for sharing. We have a heard we fall asleep to in our backyard as well. Had the hole heard come running right through our property and the ground was shaking. Epic animals the way the roll in big heards.

It’s a wonderful thing to know I get to temporarily live in this world with such unbothered creatures.

I wonder what Mercedes got for letting Lando pass Antonelli and give him those extra 2 points?
Kimi says he didn’t do it. 🤷‍♀️. McLaren really screwed up not taking that first pit when everyone else did. My question is how long does Piastri stay at McLaren. When does he just get fed up and bounce.

Ive heard and have done programming for this. Its crazy that they can make an adjustment in milliseconds, to help correct skidding.

Yeah. I’ve experienced it. It’s an entirely new driving experience.

Not only can they do corrections/adjustments in milliseconds, they can do it for each motor independently. That includes making an adjustment not just in braking and the speed the motor spins, but also in the direction the motor spins (within reason, usually at lower speeds).

A good ride needs to open up. Any ideas?
Red Bull is not signing Yuki. As much as I like him they aren’t keeping him. Go to Red Bull with Max.

And I’m sorry, if Strolls dad didn’t own the team he wouldn’t be there and with Newey as team principal they have a chance to get better. Alonso needs to retire.

These teams need to talk to me.

And Ferrari, dont get me started there. Those poor drivers. They are basically driving a tractor at this point.

Programming them sucks. The amount of computers and wiring needed and tools. you need 4 different computers to set up the traction correctly

Max & Piastri would be the dynamic duo for Red Bull.
