Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So not only are they crapping on it BUT it’s more expensive than the Scouts AND it’s as much as the new Recon which is more capable and can essentially be an open top lifestyle vehicle. I guess if you don’t like ‘boxy’ design you’d choose the S but I don’t know why they’d put out 2 vehicles that are essentially the same price. I’ve always been a wrangler fan-so long as someone else was paying for it-Jeeps are never ending problems but man did Stella ‘this screw them over 🤣

The only Jeep product I love is Wranglers. They can keep everything else.

I'd argue Jeep has a market for the Wagoneer S, had they executed it well. I love my Wrangler for it's styling and it's off road ability. I love putting the top down and taking the doors off. I bought it 19 years ago when I was 24 and now at 43, I still smile driving it. I also love my Grand Cherokee for the styling and all the refinements it has. The ride is more comfortable, it's quieter, it has more usable space (Wrangler is a 2 door). All around, it's just a nicer daily driver.

I was considering trading my Grand Cherokee in for a Wagoneer S back in September before the expiration of the tax credits. I like the styling more than I like the new Grand Cherokee. I like the idea of an BEV for a daily driver. Best of all, a 3 year lease would have ended right about the time I hope my Scout reservation will deliver. Ultimately, the well documeted issues (and having a car payment again) kept me from pulling the trigger.

I abhore the Recon. It's ugly and entirely too expensive. An electric Wrangler would have been enticing, but that's not the path they took. Stellantis seems hell bent on ruining the brand I've loved since my brother bought a YJ in the late 90s.

Safe to say robots won’t be taking over labor jobs.

Well, the headline may be a little misleading. The article seems to indicate that it was a testing/trial run, and they’re using what they learned for the next revision. I’m skeptical too, but one of these days they might be useful for the boring/tedious/dangerous stuff.
