Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I guess after getting a JLURD, I don't understand why Jeep would want to make limited editions. They killed the JLURD by making it nearly impossible to test drive or purchase. But then again, I love my Golf TDI (last 1/2 year of production)-not many of those either.

They lowered the price on the 392. I read $80,000. That’s a lot less than they used to be if that’s the case.

Despite the cancellation of the tax credit (which really didn’t lower prices, it just subsidized manufacturers),

Per J.D. Power, more than half of new vehicle shoppers (59.7%) say they are “very likely” (24.2%) or “somewhat likely” (35.5%) to consider buying or leasing an EV in the next 12 months. The number of people who are actively looking for a new car and are “very likely” to consider an EV is up 2.6 percentage points from September and is now at its highest level since January.

This might not mean much today, but it will mean a lot next year, when no fewer than 243,000 franchise EV leases will come to an end. Seeing how 94% of current owners say they won’t go back to gas, many of them will likely buy or lease a new EV, putting them back on the market. For reference, 62% of people who returned an EV at the end of the lease in 2025 chose to buy or lease another one, according to the data intelligence company.

UPDATE: It appears I am late to the game...again.:rolleyes::ROFLMAO: @J Alynn posted this info earlier in this thread. I haven't caught up with today's news.

I read another interesting article today that notes EV sales will slide because older adults with capital aren’t nearly interested as are poor 20’s/30’s drivers. I think I mentally understood that-hence the ratio of reservations on Scouts but maybe SM should think about a smaller 80/800 shorter range EV with an EREV for the off roader demographic to get younger buyers in then hope to sell up as they age to Traveler/terra then future travelall. Get them in the family and never let them leave.

I guess maybe Uncle Scotty will be moving to Charlotte. Maybe I can swing by his house and we can talk Scouts! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
My company’s second office is Charlotte and I keep thinking of transferring there eventually as my job(s) can be done from PA or NC. Then I could join you and the cool uncle for lunch and scout talk. We could become corporate Scout ambassadors

That's why I don't listen to the mainstream weather. I listen to my local radio station weatherman Dan Zarrow.
Reminds me of the days when I got weather info from “downstate Illinois’ only full time radio meteorologist Ed Keyser”
