Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Well one has heritage behind its design, and the other is just most likely an updated interior that has no gut, or real thought behind it.

Its also likely that design of the kia interior has been planned for the past 5 years. Considering that most cars are planned 5ish years in advance most of the time. Everything i have read is saying 2023 or earlier it was designed.

But if not, its nice knowing that other companies are copying Scout.

It would need to have the styling of an old international van. Keep it within the relative family.

Like Scout designers can so make this van, and plus it’s pretty aero dynamic, ask Elon. It’s the same shape as the robovan.

Exactly the image I had in mind. Would be great to see a modern version. Hoping @mwmassie takes up my cause and comes up with some inspiration 😀

Some of these new car designs really make me appreciate Scout's designers even more every day.
I keep saying that. They could have just made it an egg on wheels like every other SUV and called it a day, but they really leaned into the community and the heritage and made something that is very recognizable as a Scout. Heck even making the Terra a new version of the color of the first Terra and the Traveler a new version of the Tahitian Red the last Traveler was. Seeing them together at Nats was awesome.

I mean look how close the color is on the Traveler.

Even the Front grill of the Old Scout, compared to the EVrill of the New Scout, all the design clues are there.

You would think Tesla would have tried to capitalize on the trailer market, before getting into Trucks, since those are pretty expensive.
I agree the electrified trailer makes a lot of sense. There are already so many diesel semis and the infrastructure to support them. But, trailers have the opportunity and space to have batteries mounted under them or at the front. They could have charge ports, regenerative braking and they have 450sq ft of roof space on a 53' van trailer. Solar panels on a roof that size could be between 8-12kW and produce between 30-60 kWh per day. Not too shabby.

and it would somewhat help with emissions

the kia looks cheap and flimsy for some reason, but at least it's actually out there're, we are still wondering what's going on with our ride
I think of it like an iceberg. The concepts are above the water line, along with the updates we get on the factory. Below the surface is the giant part of the iceberg where all the work is happening. Every new model has gone through this phase. At one point people were freaking out waiting for their Rivian. Now there’s lots of places around the US where you can see and test drive them. They have vehicles available for purchase now or you can order one to be exactly how you want. Scout will get there. We just have to give them time. As hard as that is.

I’ve seen the same interior design cues in concept vehicles for the past couple of decades. The Scout’s interiors are nice, no doubt, but they’re not exactly 100% original.
