I agree. Here Scout is trying to generate a detox mode to go dark because they listened to us but Porsche is going the opposite direction-hmmm!Personally, I find too much screen is dangerous for driving at night. It fatigues the eyes, creates glare, and reduces visibility outside of the cabin. I want less screen.
I suspect it’s going to be the same S58 with Mild Hybrid Tech. I can’t wait to see it.All im gonna say ive seen it with the wrap. And its design is on point! And the engine is pretty cool.
INCOMING RANTHonestly I thought it was going to be worse, I am just happy that they kept tactile buttons for some controls. Interested to see how durable and usable the wireless charging is.
So haptic pads-similar? That is dumbest thing I’ve heard of for a steering wheelINCOMING RANT
We rented a 2026 Ford Expedition Max this week for a project and IT WAS AWFUL.
The dash was on a “shelf” pretty far from the driving position, and the steering wheel had freaking touch pads like the old OG iPods. They had “buttons” that would light up under the pads but there were no tactile buttons. So great. I have to look down at my thumbs when I wanted to set the cruise control or play music. That’s totally safer!
They had to use a Squircle steering wheel to see the dash and it took some adjustment as well for low speed parking lot maneuvers. Speaking of adjustments, you have to use the steering wheel pads to select the steering wheel adjustment. The steering column has nothing on it.
Way less physical buttons too. There was just a small row of them below the dash, and a shifter knob along with the volume knob, because why not, let’s just make it even more unintuitive.
They are trying to copy Tesla so bad and it’s only redeeming quality are probably the most comfortable seats I’ve ever sat on.
But I hated the whole experience and look forward to returning that one. Ford engineers have lost their minds!

All I’m gonna say is no… it’s a new type, utilizing a new spark plug design.I suspect it’s going to be the same S58 with Mild Hybrid Tech. I can’t wait to see it.
Very very interesting. Wonder if it’s a patented design. All I’m gonna say is no… it’s a new type, utilizing a new spark plug design.
It’s hard to explain. So haptic pads-similar? That is dumbest thing I’ve heard of for a steering wheel
It’s a much different experience in my opinion. We rented a 2024 Expedition for a a week last month, and it was just fine. Had zero complaints.I rented an expedition max last year (the prior version) and I thought that one was nice. This one looks a lot worse and not an upgrade.
Well enjoy your first “hit”-it’s addictiveIt’s hard to explain.
You have to tap a center button to bring up the menu for each pad on the dashboard to physically see each function because the lights turn off, swipe around the pad to select the thing you want, select it by clicking the center button or clicking on the pad in that area.
They have a smooth surface so it’s hard to tell where my thumbs were without placing them on the center button first. The swiping wasn’t smooth. It was frustrating for only the fly adjustments.
Cruise control adjustments require tapping at the top or bottom of the left pad. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn’t. I also couldn’t set cruise if my foot was still pressing the accelerator.
Felt too busy, complex and unintuitive.
So glad that Scout is retaining dedicated physical buttons.
Hopefully @Jamie@ScoutMotors will be gracious enough to let me take a close look at the interiors tomorrow![]()
Is that a schnauzer too? Don’t you have a different avatar/image before? Why does everyone have Schnauzers on this forum. Miss my family’s schnauzers growing upI rented an expedition max last year (the prior version) and I thought that one was nice. This one looks a lot worse and not an upgrade.
Because Schnauzers are the bestest girls and boys.Is that a schnauzer too? Don’t you have a different avatar/image before? Why does everyone have Schnauzers on this forum. Miss my family’s schnauzers growing up
It is, he is a Giant Schnauzer. My avatar before was just the default “C”. We used to have a Mini Schnauzer cross with a Westie (a Wauzer) but she passed away at the end of last year.Is that a schnauzer too? Don’t you have a different avatar/image before? Sounds good, he loves going for car rides, sometimes he just goes into the garage and stands by the car waiting for us to take him for a ride.Maybe once we have our scouts we can connect and you can bring him along. We had minis. I like the giants just as much
You are the third Schanuzer. I have a mini, her name is Freddie. Then @maynard has a standard named Kona and now your giant! All three types represented. Any other Schnauzers out there???It is, he is a Giant Schnauzer. My avatar before was just the default “C”.
