    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

@Chavannigans, love it. Loved the old Grand Waggys and have wheeled with a bunch of guys out here in AZ from the FSJ crowd. And you're right, seeing those things running some of the same trails I run in my Wrangler makes them look comparably like behemoths. I like your comparison to the Traveler so decided to do my own comparing to my WK2 Trailhawk and a stock YJ vs my YJ. Fun! Edit: with all my garage cabinets, the Scout is just barely going to fit in the space my WK2 currently occupies.

That’s close. It is still my biggest concern and the most likely reason that I will not get a new Scout. I am really hoping for a little trimming down, especially the width.
 
Hello! Thanks for all the interior comparison pictures. I also have a Wrangler Unlimited. Mine is the MOAB edition.

Having seen them at Nationals they are definitely bigger inside than my Wrangler. My husband took tons of pictures and I posted them in a Nationals thread. I also took some measurements with my iPhone and posted those as well. The only interior measurement I got was the back of the Traveler.

Thanks so much for these measurements! I was worried the traveler was going to be too low to the ground like the new Hyundai Santa Fe 😝. I think this is confirmation that it will be taller and a lot better looking!

Welcome to the community! You are very welcome. I completely agree!

Now do keep in mind that the concept is on 35s and I was told not lifted but on an off road setup. But yes tall and gorgeous!

I’m in a Chevy Tahoe this week for work, and it’s still nuts to me that the Traveler will be close to the same size!

I was worried there wouldn’t be much space in the cargo area but we were able to stuff quite a bit in it today for this project.

We had it full from floor to ceiling with two flat carts, 8 rolls of Cat6, 3 rolls of 2 conductor shield, 8 2’X2’ ceiling speakers, and our Klein backpacks and a few cases of water.

The Traveler will probably be perfect for my needs if it has close to the same storage space in the back.

The Tahoe is very similar to the Traveler (without rear Tire Carrier) except in length, Tahoe is 10" 20" longer. It's either more rear seat legroom or storage I don't know how they are using that extra.

And yet in person-it doesn’t feel as big as that Tahoe looks.

My source says the 2025 Tahoe is ~211 inches long.
The Traveler will be 191 inches long. That’s a 20 inch difference.
What am I misreading?

Even so, the frunk will accommodate a small amount of that “missing” space. Not all of it, of course, because it’s not as tall as the rear of the Traveler. The Lightning’s frunk is about 33”w x 22”d x 13”h (about 5.5 cubic feet). The frunk on the Scouts will be similar in dimensions, though I expect they’ll accommodate more stuff than the Lightning frunk does. I would expect about 5-6 cubic feet in the Traveler’s frunk.

The Tahoe’s cargo volume behind the third row is 26 cubic feet.
Behind the second row (third row folded), it’s 73 cubic feet.
Behind the first row (second and third rows folded), it’s 123 cubic feet.

4Runner (no 3rd row) cargo capacity:
Behind the second row: 48 cubic feet.
Behind the first row: 90 cubic feet.

Taking some guesses at the dimensions of the cargo space behind the rear seat in the Traveler based on Scout’s sketches and @cyure’s photos:
Behind the second row: 43 cubic feet. (minimum)
Behind the first row: 84 cubic feet. (minimum)

Add in the ~6 cubic feet of the frunk:
Total with the second row in place: 49 cubic feet (minimum)
Total with the second row folded: 90 cubic feet (minimum)

Note that this assumes a rectangular cuboid rather than accounting for the curves, slopes, etc., so it’s a minimum.

I think with the tire carrier that is when the overall dimensions are comparable. Otherwise I think Tahoe was always just thrown around as the comparable but agree with your assessment

The 4Runner is the 190 so add a tire carrier and that’s it. The Tahoe or the Sequoia are pretty close to the dimensions with a tire carrier. I can’t wait till we can actually test drive a Scout and we aren’t all running around trying to find something that’s close. 😹

I really don’t think it’s gonna feel that big when we start driving them. Unless you are coming from a mini cooper or VW beetle I thinks it’s gonna feel very manageable

I was just thinking of the overall length with the carrier when I compared them.

That would be a fat finger it's 20" longer

One consideration is the Tahoe has grown by a pretty substantial 8.7” over the past 15 years, and 12.4” longer in the past 25 years.

Since I’m poor when I think of a Tahoe I’m thinking of older ones I can actually afford 🤣
I feel you there! My reference points for all vehicles are the ones I owned or considered… To me, because of our use of it when I was growing up, a Chevrolet Chevette is a great off-roader and 6-10 person van. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :cry:
