  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Wow. We had looked at the sequoia but my wife didn’t care for the ride (guess she’s in for a surprise with the Scout-not gonna ride like her Honda and Acura SUV’s. I always think of the sequoia as LARGE but in a good way. I’m just surprised having seen both that they are nearly same size-wow, just Wow!
I think the Scout being a couple inches taller and having 35s make it look bigger than it is.

Length is not an issue. I have a brick staircase entering my driveway on one side and my neighbor’s house immediately on the other side. It’s tight with my car and my wife’s car as it relates to width.
iX 87.8” with mirrors out
X5 87.3” with mirrors out
Traveler 91.6” with mirrors out

Okay question. Can you fold the mirrors and then park or will a car not drive with the mirrors folded.

Several manufacturers (VW included) offer remote parking assistance with an app for parking in tight spaces. It would be a useful feature for Scout.
I’m just not used to any of this stuff. I know I keep saying 12 year old Wrangler but this is my parking assistance. The side mirrors on my Jeep are like the whiskers on a cat. If the mirrors fit I’m good. 😹

Hmmmm. New 4Runner, but I did see one the other day and no reaction at all. Just oh that’s a new one. I don’t have Gwagon money but could test drive one if a used one pops up near me.

The thing is since I decide on the Traveler I have stopped looking at other cars. It’s like the switch turned off and the Scout is it.

I’m not a truck person so wouldn’t bother with any other trucks.

Okay what else have people test driven in their car search that didn’t make my list?
I would love to get your impressions on a used LX570 and 200 Series Land Cruiser.

Awh thanks for asking my impressions. Funny that’s one car I have never test driven is a Lexus anything. And I’m terrible when it comes to buying used cars. We have bought one in our 35 years of marriage. A 97 Z3 from a dealer. I knew it needed tires and then it quickly needed brakes so I was arguing it couldn’t have had the amount of brakes they said so I got that fixed on them. Then someone had replaced the door panels and they didn’t match so they were going to fix that and that turned into a fiasco so after that I was done with used cars.

But if you are going to buy something used, I would think a Toyota product would be better than most and a vehicle is emotional. If it works for your needs and you like it and that’s what you want before you get the Scout then I think it’s great idea.

Nah. I just meant I would have liked your thoughts on those two options since you have test driven so many others.

They are great vehicles but still too small for my family. Not enough cargo space with all of us loaded up.

Oh my thoughts. 😹. Nope. I have never liked that Lexus grill and honestly if I was going to get a Land Cruiser give me a vintage one over the new one. The ones from the 60s and 70s, love them!

They are pretty cool, but their top speeds will get you run over on the interstate.. At least here in Texas. lol

Always wanted an FJ62. Such an iconic vehicle.

Just needs a twin turbo V8 diesel swap from Diesel Toys and it would be my dream car.

I've been looking for an FJ6x for electric conversion for ages. It's a good thing we haven't found one yet. The conversion tech just keeps getting better.

Not really directly related to size "comparison", but it would be nice to have the basic properties of the vehicle listed somewhere in the system. For example, a page in the infotainment could show the vehicle along with its dimensions and (curb) weight. It comes handy when looking for parking, being towed, etc.
Welcome to the community.

Welcome. I like that idea. That sort of info used to be in owner's manuals in the glove box. But, in the modern era that info should be readily available on the screen.

Yes, I agree. Parking in DC is a nightmare, and to make it worst some parking garages have strict limits on vehicle dimensions that prevents SUVs like Suburban or Sequoia from entering. It's good to know how wide and tall our car is!

Have you seen the preliminary dimensions? They are on the main site. The Traveler is very close to the Rivian R1S. The Terra is very close to the F150.
