All EV/BEV needs its own name!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I was looking again at the picture I posted earlier of Reddy Kilowatt, and I noticed the name of the scooter he's riding on. If you just change one letter it would be perfect. It's even written in a similar font to the Scout logo.

Not to go against the flow but please add a “no sub name” option. Having gone through this exercise I’ve realized I just like Traveller.
-BMW is a 3 “series” and M is performance
-Audi is A5 and performance is S5
-Acura is TLX and performance is. Type S
-jeeps have too many subnames in my opinion. Wrangler, wrangler Willy, wrangler rubicon, wrangler “Special of the day version”

Theses brands recognize the base vehicle and then the enhanced performance versions get a surname.

from this standpoint it is Traveller and performance is “harvester”, same with Terra.

Scout is about simplicity and adding surnames is making me feel like it is clouding the model name.

Would you like the e in Traveller to be blue? Or some sort of logo?

Hmmm! A stylized E similar to Scout script could be interesting. Maybe the hole in the “e” is a blue star to tie back to your star ideas?
I’m not big on the all blue letters but since I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that blue is the internationally recognized color for EV to tie to earth and blue of the water (which mixed with electric isn’t exactly safe but nonetheless I think that’s the universal

I’m about to launch a poll. I will expound on the star logo idea a bit first. Many of the IH truck engines were called Diamond ie. Green Diamond, Silver Diamond, Blue Diamond. The old logo for International trucks was three diamonds. The current logo is a diamond. So, there would be some symbolic connections. A blue diamond logo would be a really cool designation for the BEV Scouts!

I actually agree with this.

A separate name probably isn't necessary for the BEV Scouts.

I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of adding any extra naming and I'm leaning toward the side of keeping it simple. Without the "Harvester", you either have a Traveller or a Terra, and that may be enough.

I was thinking that maybe a play on Electrall to "ElecTrail" or something could work, but I just don't think it is really needed. Some details in the names (colors, letters, accents) could allude to the fact that it is all-electric, or add an "E" after the name as part of one badge maybe.

As for Electrall, I had to do some research. Here is a good article that explains it and I think it shows how practical and ahead of its time the idea was. https://octanepress.com/content/bri...VVvaE-3g1HYD7y64Rx5GF_vdmSjRXEoeyDGuhVG8MqUXA

Here some pictures from the web of the graphics. Really cool with the lighting bolt!

Thank's for this bit of IH history. I still think it is a cool name.
