Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Same like an American company or something. Even if it was a company that strictly did Charging R&D.
I do like the progress on the “pocket” nuclear reactors. They would be a quickly deployed boost to the grid. Just another piece of the puzzle that might allow us to get to quick and reliable electric transportation.

This source couldn’t get the location of the factory correct, so suspect as it may be… If VW does this would it be made to appease the VW dealers so that they can have an off-roader? Will it be a iD.Thing, iD. Toureg? Is this possibly the path to a 2 door Scout? Or, is it all BS?

I'd be really curious how much of this is driven by small business vs private individuals. I see so many people with small businesses buying the more expensive trucks/vehicles, but I don't see anywhere near as many individuals doing so. Can't blame them, the tax structure promotes it, but I'd be curious how that skews the numbers.
All depends where you are. I routinely seeing high schoolers in my area driving 5 year old or newer bummers, Lexus, etc. I’m fortunate my wife and I work and the only thing I splurge on is cars but we are able to because we save a lot of our money. That said, admittedly we probably trade cars on average every 3-5 years. Sometimes luxury and currently Honda’s-just depends on our when and why. Look at any lower end dealer and even they are pushing sales and premium features.
But I agree I think a lot of business owners over indulge and write off the cost to justify it

Probably BS. They have talked about it like 5 times.

Interesting. Sad about plant location. Good effort

Yeah Mini/Pocket Reactors are gonna be huge. Since it will be able to go under SkyScrapers and supply to the building and push out to the grid.

I thought it was just me. Did we lose emojis and I missed it?
I lost mine. There is a a center vertical column of 3 dots above the text box to right of the little photo icon. If you pull down on that there is an emoji face that opens to like 15 choices.
Not sure why mine off iPhone don’t just stick but they keep disappearing

This must be the sort of thing NADA blathers on about how much consumers benefit by purchasing a vehicle through a dealership. :cautious:

It's to bad he didn't notice the dent when he inspected the vehicle before he signed the papers and drove away. Once you sign and drive you are on your own. Dealers can really be the worst.

Before I just pulled emojis from below my qwerty pad. They show when I type them but when I post the reply they disappear. Using the little pull down in the window where text is showing is now the only way I can get emojis to post
I’m testing to see if it’s working.
