Welcome and Introductions!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Hey everyone. Joel here from Montana. I grew up riding around a Scout and still have one the garage. I'm a fan of the new Scouts although I haven't reserved one quite yet.

Welcome to the forum. Check it all out. 2 years of crazy on here so anything you can imagine you can likely find or throw it out to the crowd to respond. The search tool will be your friend so you can find topics you’re interested in or find out if something you are thinking is already a topic-then you can deep dive.
Lots of passionate Scout fans and EV fans on here so enjoy your time on the crazy train ?

Bobcats or Grizzlies?

Hey, all! Joe here from Washington. I don't have any great Scout stories from my past unfortunately! I reserved a spot in line for the Terra with Harvester. I have had a Chevy Volt since 2012 with over 120,000 miles (about 70-80,000 on battery) and I have been waiting and watching for an SUV or Truck electric vehicle and was over the moon when I saw Scout was going to include an ICE generator in it! Look forward to watching the progress and keeping up with this community! Cheers!

Hey everyone......new guy here.

Been posting for about a day and a half at this point....thank you for tolerating me thus far! Really looking forward to getting my hands on a Terra Harvester in a couple years. The idea will be to replace my Nissan Titan SV pickup which I use to take my race car to the track. The Titan has been a good truck....but it's getting a little long in the tooth (it'll be 14 years old in 2027) and I'm thinking I'd like to get back into an EV.

I had a "2021" Tesla Model 3 Performance as my first EV and really enjoyed it. Took it on a bunch of road trips and it's the only car I've owned that my wife would happily ride in for any significant amount of time. I only sold it so I could finally get my hands on the new Z that I'd been waiting a long time for (The M3P replaced a 981 Cayman S that was a money pit). It's a great car and even does pretty well on a race track despite how heavy it is. Anyway, I did enjoy owning my Tesla and have fully intended to get back into an EV at some point now that I have my "final" manual transmission toy car. Really was only one downside to my EV experience...and it had nothing to do with the car. FWIW....Scout....please take a look at Tesla's customer service as an example of what NOT TO DO. They make good cars...but they don't have a clue how to treat their customers (particularly so given how expensive their product is!). Some times you just need to talk to a person directly....not through an app!

After watching some YouTube videos about EV Trucks, I started thinking that going EV with a replacement truck might be the way to go. After digging around I came across the Terra Harvester and liked what I saw.....so I reserved one. Then....I found here and decided to join the conversation.

Welcome aboard. Here’s my usual greeting. The search button is your friend. If you can think it it’s probably been thought of but hopefully you bring new genius to the party. The search will also help if you start a new thread to see if anything similar exists. Jamie and SM team read regularly and as a long timer here we’ve found streamlining helps them track our comments and also helps us find old info for new members asking questions.
Enjoy the circus and post a pic of your ‘23 Z for me ?

Hi all, new to the forum. Wish I had found it and joined 2 years ago.

Like many on here, I'm a lifelong car enthusiast. I've owned two Scouts and still have one of them.

The first one I had was a 1976 Scout II in maroon color with the 345 V8 and 4 speed manual. I had it in high school and for a few years after until the rust got too far ahead of me. I had a lot of fun in that truck and a lot of memories. Took the top off in the summer and got caught in a bad thunderstorm once. That was a wet and nervewracking ride home! That was back before everyone had a camera in their pocket, so I have almost no pictures of it. If I find any, I'll post them.

The other Scout that I still own is a 1968 Scout 800 that I've used for plowing my driveway for the last 18 years. I posted the story of that one in the registry if you want to read more about it. Here's a pic:

I also have a 1974 AMC Javelin AMX that I drive only in the summertime. it's got a 401 with a 4 speed.

Also had a few Cadillacs, a 1969 coupe convertible with robin's egg blue spray can paint job, and a 1970 white and rust colored Calais. I paid $300 for that car and it was my daily driver for about 4 years. Here's a pic of those two caddies with my brother's 1941 Oldsmobile in the background.

I even had a 1983 Volkswagen Scirocco for a while when I was in college. No pics of that one, sadly.

I'm really excited for the new Scouts and can't wait to get my Terra.

I just joined as well! Probably read nearly every post (except when it went off track on political tangents—thanks for this community keeping that to a minimum). Looking forward to engaging and learning more. I am coming from a Jeep Wrangler 4xE which is good…Scout is shaping up to be GREAT!
