Traveler without rear tire carrier

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

After living with a swing-out tire carrier on my Bronco for a couple years - I swore to myself I'd never own something like that again. I'll definitely be skipping the tire carrier on mine. It sucks that that probably means that I'll not have a spare with me, but I'll chance it I guess. With good beefy AT tires I'm not that worried though. I pulled a 2" lag bolt out of mine (33" E-Load Kenda Klever AT) and didn't even need a patch.
33’s will fit under. Since you mentioned your previous tires

Rear tire carrier looks awesome, but I image it will be a pain for daily use. Usually have a hitch mount bike rack on in the summers too. Also a little worried about garage fit with it. Currently my 2013 Pathfinder fits in the garage with the bike rack on (without bike loaded).

Makes me wonder if there could be a way to use the swing arm for things besides a spare, eg remove the spare carrier and attach a bike carrier. Maybe it would require some aftermarket modifications, but it’d be an interesting possibility.

@J Alynn do you have the picture of the drawing of the rear tire rack from the reveal?
I think. I’ll try to post. Ever since server swap it keeps saying my photos are all large so need to give it a try. If there’s a pic you know it worked, if not someone needs to teach me the easiest way to size down images on my iPhone
No go on pic but I have one. Try again in next few days when I’m back in the states

It seems to complain when I post screenshots in png format, some times they are large. I have been converting them to jpg format and reducing the size. This has been working for me and, the quality is still good. Maybe they have a new size limit.

Glad it’s not just me. I remember last time they did big change on servers I had similar problem. Don’t know when or why it allowed that again-just sorta solved it itself

Tire carrier looks cool but hate that you have to swing it out of the way to open the rear hatch. I'm hoping that if ordered without the tire carrier, it will look more like the rear of the Terra with the cool lighting.

Hi Miranda77. There’s a thread all about the traveler without the tire carrier and various forum members have posted possible pictures. I don’t think there are any official pictures from Scout but if you search traveler without tire carrier a lot of posts come up. Again, welcome to the community.
