  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I don't mind a toolbox accessory but I see something interesting here.

At 55:46 you can look in the tool box and see foam to hold the tools in. Which to me is wasted space.. and who wants their flash light and binoculars in the back like that. A dirty shovel stored with binoculars where the lens could get dirty. Also I don't like being forced to have the tools. The axe is probably junky and I don't care if it can be a shovel. No offense but everyone has their particulars.

Throwing tools at us is a markup scam. Imo.

We all have tools already and we can go to the store and buy the ones we like. I like wood handles treated with pine tar. Rivians flashlight is at least easy to get to. 99% of the time we'll be in the cab wanting it.

Scout can sell all the axes they want (as accessories)... The same way any OEM may partner with third parties to develop specific add-ons that may work well with their vehicles.

Keep in mind that these are all prototypes and prototype accessories. Since we don't yet have a production spec, and don't have production pricing or trim levels, saying that they are throwing tools and mark-ups at us is just speculation about something we aren't yet close to knowing.

Theoretically, buyers could also have an option to buy a tool chest as a stand-alone accessory (if that tool chest makes it to production) and opt NOT to buy tools in it. All TBD... But I would not be surprised if there is a Scout store online. Many accessories may be "Scout-branded" but made by a third party... Like a RTT made by GFC or Yakima that has Rivian's name on it (for example).

Good for Scout for showing the art of the possible with their prototypes!

This is no different than furnishing a model home. No need to get you fruit of the looms in a bunch-it’s just for show and tell to give people ideas. I’ve never seen a manufacturer force a storage unit full of tools on anyone. And hey-Halloween is coming up so maybe they have costumes packed in there or they are planning a cross country killing spree. Dig enough and I’m sure there’s a hockey mask, machete and leather butcher’s apron.
No need to get all wound up, they’ll have an X-mas tree and a Hanukkah bush strapped on top soon enough’. And since it’s electric they can plug the lights in wherever they end up

Foam is a nightmare waiting to happen - wait till it gets wet (and you open it 2 weeks latter to a bunch of corroded tools). That said, you could bolt on some t-slot and use clips to keep your heavy gear from sliding around while still having the open space between stuff - plus it would allow for airflow and drying. I understand, they already made the binoculars - but they belong in the cab, not a tool box.

Agree but for Proto and display it looks good

I’m not sure why you’re choosing to look at this as an attempt to take money out of the pockets of the consumer rather than an attempt to add value. I see this as an attempt to add value. If you don’t view this as an added value, don’t keep it in your vehicle. I feel that way about cloth floor mats: get right on the hell out of my car, I don’t want that negativity.

What’s your evidence that this is a markup scam? I’m seeing this as an attempt to add value for the consumer. Everyone views life through the lenses through which their life has been lead, and I’m assuming you’ve been screwed a few times to think that Big Auto is out to get you. I’m not seeing this as a hostile move. The tools probably aren’t meant to be the best that money can buy (when are these kinds of convenience tools ever that good?), but in a pinch, they’re probably better than nothing if you need to sink a stake into crappy soil while camping or some such scenario. Maybe you need to poop by the side of the road. Who knows? I think it’s helpful, but you are free to disagree and see it as fiendish.
