Terra tailgate questions

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hey, just put in a reservation for the Terra, I know not a ton of information is out there. I'm wondering if there will be a swing gate/drop down tailgate (a lot like the Honda Ridgeline)? Also, will there be a top view of the Harvester engine from the trunk?

Love the tailights even though my wife is not for them.

Welcome to the community. I don’t know the answer to your tailgate question but as for the location of the Harvester engine at this time what I have seen is it going to be underneath in the back. So the Terra will have a frunk and a bed. I have had that question as well how you access it as you won’t have a traditional engine under the hood so to speak.

A great follow around here is @Jamie@ScoutMotors He keeps us updated on things from the manufacturer side and the search is really helpful too. Enjoy the journey!

Thank You,

Kinda figured nothing has been said, was scouting my way around the treads and haven't seen anything. We'll find out one day hopefully!

Super excited my wife is annoyed at me cause that's all I've talked about for the last 48 hours with her.

Oh it’s all I have talked to my husband about for the last 6 months and our summer vacation is driving 5 hours to Ohio for Scout Nationals so we can see the concepts! And he is a sports car guy. We have a 2022 Supra. He’s supportive but Scouts aren’t his thing. 😹

Welcome to the forum. To date the only feature shown (in active motion) is a traditional tailgate. There have been some requests for the Ridgeline style tailgate but at the reveal (which was early version prototype) open/close was only feature and nothing has been shown otherwise to date. I’d suggest getting some votes up there if you are a Terra reservation holder and this feature is important.
