Scout Traveler:: Cabin Entry Height Measurement by Wheel/Tire Package

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Thank you, I have these dimensions which are perfect for me. It is only a 2.1 inches longer that my Ford Edge if you are not counting the spare tire. I can absorb the spare tire in the garage space i have.
I am looking for how far off the ground the entry point is into the human cabin from the ground. IF, the wheel and tire package shown are the 35 inch tires I am guessing the center of the wheel is ~ 17.5 inches off the ground. That part of the wheel/tire seems to be below the entry port into the cabin. Thus the question. How far does someone have to step up into the auto from ground level.

Hello! We don't have those numbers yet, SM hasn’t provided them. I did see the Traveler twice in person. I did ask how much of a lift it’s on and was told it’s on an offroad setup. It is tall, but I would imagine they will have a “street” version that is not on an offroad setup. Additionally, it will be offered with 33” tires. That’s the smallest we know of so far.

I don’t know if you say any of the pictures my husband took. I stood next to the Traveler for scale. I am 5’7”. Here’s a couple pictures, you can also search my name in the thread title and I posted all the pictures he took at Nats and in Chicago in 2 different threads.

Thank you. Your pictures help. Looks to me the entry point is 6-8 inches above the bottom black trim of the door. It is much higher than your knees. I will have to see it in person with a tape measure. My spouse is 5' 2" so much shorter. Might be a challenge.

You are welcome. I can’t believe they won’t have running boards, either direct from factory or added on in the accessory shop they have spoken of that they are building. Also that is on an offroad setup. The street setup on a smaller tire will be shorter I would imagine.

Welcome again to the community.

Doing some quick scaling off their drawings, it looks like the floor height from ground to front door floor is in the 24" to 26" range with a 35" tire. Ground to rear cargo floor/tailgate on the Traveler looks to be in the 38"-39" range. Obviously not exact since some extrapolation is involved, but I'll bet they're pretty close.
