Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. Honestly I never go off road. I just like the way it looks and being in Illinois I like never having to worry about potholes or crap conditions. So 35s are not necessary. I’m sure 33s are sufficient but I have wanted 35s forever!😹
Also, just so you know so far
, knock on wood I drive a lot on the highway I have only gotten a puncture once because for some reason, there was a 7 inch long sheared bolt with a diameter of 1/2 inch that punctured it but usually I get lucky and Nails get stuck in the treads and you can just pull them out since they don’t go deep enough the puncture of the tire I think it might have something to do with the type of tire. I have more than the size but it’s just something I noticed.

Nice Jeep too looks good. I like the bronze wheels. I think the black and bronze combo looks good. Also, the only reason my Jeep is lifted is because it came from the dealer like that it was a demo. So the whole lift kit and stuff was warranted, though my Jeep they never offered a lifetime warranty because I have the JL and by then I’m pretty sure Jeep figured out that they’re not gonna make money offering a lifetime warranty
Oh they did figure it out. At 90,000 miles I got Anne’s heater core, oil cooler and radiator and I just paid my $100 deductible. 😹
 
If you want 35 you should be fine. You just have to make sure they clear. I think they do because I think 35s are the max you can put on without needing a lift.
What I have is max on my jeep to clear with a -12 offset. Any bigger they recommend a lift. Since I’m getting the Scout I’m not doing anything else to the Jeep. And since we have the warranty I think my son is going to take her over. It just makes sense.

Yeah, that’s probably for the best i’m not really doing too much either just anything that might be necessary, maintenance, etc. not any extra mods until the Scout comes out though I might get Door hinge covers because I’m getting corrosion on and around the door hinges again and that’s why I want Scout to please not have any dissimilar metals touching each other anywhere on the vehicle basically unless there’s a very good layer of either rubber sealer or something like that to prevent them from actually touching each other

Have you replaced your door pin sleeves so the doors don’t seize and get stuck? If not I highly recommend it. Same corrosion and I was so happy when they said nothing came off the Scout. I know people like it but I don’t prefer that at all.

My doors are good it is the outside paint on the hinges themself and on the door is bubbling is the problem , I think it is a JL specific problem where the JKs don’t have this issue. Because only the JLs have Aluminum doors and steel door hinges because Jeep was trying to make it weight less then the JK but didn’t think of the issue of having two different metals touching each other. JKs have both Steel doors and hinges so that is why they don’t have the issue. So if Jeep wanted to do it correctly, they should have had aluminum doors and aluminum hinges and then it wouldn’t be an issue if they wanted to make aluminum doors that badly to try to squeeze out a little better MPG

Oh my hinges are bubbled. They are rusting. It’s that pin is metal and the sleeve is metal and with the salt and snow they are rusty and I can’t get 3 of my doors off now. The last resort is heat. We have tried everything. Thank you Scout for making the door a normal door.

I am in Florida so I don’t have snow or salt and I first had that issue after a year of owning it, but hopefully the scout doesn’t have any of these issues

When dissimilar metals are used, this phenomenon occurs regardless of the location. This presents a significant challenge for manufacturers who incorporate varying compositions in their body panels.

Exactly. I wish someone would have told me early on. I would have replaced the pin sleeves with these aftermarket sleeves. The door I could get off and put this on works great. The other 3 not so great.

That would have done the trick. Sorry it was to late for you. I don't know why they don't put them in from the factory. A lot of dissatisfied customer because of this.

Honestly. And the way it’s painted the only way to replace the hinge is to take them off and you have to repaint the doors as well. It’s not cheap.

Yes when they paint a Jeep they put the unpainted hinges on the unpainted door and then paint it. So taking the hinges off ruins the paint. Not a great design.
