Scout Factory Extended Warranty?? Can you Beat Ford ????

Can you motors stand behind there cars? If so I would like the company to offer a Very Long bumper to bumper extended Warranty. As good and long as Ford or better.

Can you guys pull that off? It would help a lot of customers feel better about buying a new Scout.

Ford offers a Bumper to Bumper 10 years / 175,000 Extended warty.

I hope Scout does the same or BETTER!

I could be wrong, but Ford's standard warranty is 3 year/36,000 miles. Powertrain is 5/60,000.

We will definitely be competitive.

Ford offers a 10 year warranty/ 175,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty that’s able to be purchased directly from the manufacturer ie. Ford.

This is what potential customers are worried about and wanting, not the base warranty. Obviously, most companies come with the same standard base warranty.

Yes, this is directly through Ford Motor Company. I definitely don’t like going third-party and would be very happy if Scout provided something equivalent to Ford

Same boat but really hoping to keep my Traveler. Unless they offer a smaller 2/4 door with removable top

My understanding is the batteries will get a longer warranty. My understanding is that it’s a Federal law. So we will get at least 8 years or 100,000 miles for the batteries.

I'd also be curious for ICE owners honestly. Do you have an extended warranty, and what brand vehicle?

I generally don't buy crappy brands of vehicles that are more prone to needing their warranty, but Scout is a complete leap of faith in that regard.

Apologies of this is something I already replied to you. I’ve talked about this on the forum before. When we were buying our Wrangler the salesman was like oh this is your first Jeep, you should buy this lifetime MOPAR warranty. At that time we had been there all day and we did.

Glad we did. It truly is lifetime, but it’s also through the manufacturer. So it was about $4,000 if I’m remembering correctly.

She has 115,000 miles and each repair has just been a $100 deductible. These are my repairs to date:

1. Bushing in the rear end (didn’t pay much attention to that one so can’t tell you more than that)
2. Oil cooler
3. Oxygen sensor
4. fuel pump relay and fuses
5. Thermostat
6. Heater core, oil cooler and radiator.

They will put in a new engine or transmission if those go and it would just be the $100 deductible.

When she had less than 100,000 miles I got a free loaner car for the duration of the repair.

I asked once what happened if the repair was more than blue book and they said they don’t fix the vehicle, you get to keep it and they write you a check for blue book.

Part of the reason I have had so much difficult replacing her. I literally don’t worry when I take her in for maintenance. Find whatever you want and call the warranty people, here’s my $100.

They don’t sell that warranty anymore for obvious reasons.

Been driving BEVs for 16 years now and have never bought an extended warranty. Tesla Roadster from 2010-2021 and 70k miles. Wife's first Model S, 2012-2018 and 60k miles. Wife's current model S, 2018-present and 95k miles. My Model X Plaid, 2022-present 77k miles.

My wife's car has been in a few times but due to trauma (hitting things like a box of crap on the highway, deer, and going off a curb and landing on the nose) so that doesn't count. It did just have its first failure, one of the door handles started malfunctioning. Her first gen model s had every door handle malfunction under warranty. Back then they used microswitches that got dirty and failed. The new ones all use hall effect sensors so have been much more reliable. The one that failed is the driver's door so the one that gets the most use. $774 for parts and labor.

@cyure you have the most special extended warranty ever and is definitely worth it. In my experience, regalar ones are not worth it.

I certainly hope Scout has all parts available for us to replace ourselves, along with shop manuals.

They should team up and have LEGO design their shop manual graphics. (obviously while releasing some LEGO models of the Terra and Traveler)
