  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We are in for one BEV Traveler, and one EREV Traveler. I don't personally want or need the EREV but fiancee likes the idea. I don't think she knows that Harvester will be more expensive. My sincere hope is that Scout isn't locked into a specific battery chemistry yet. If they are pushing the release of the BEV I hope they will be prepared to move to the latest tech that still keeps the pricing in line. Range and charging times are improving by the month. If you have 18 months before production starts, let's make sure we aren't behind the times or obsolete before the cars deliver.
I thought I needed a Harvester but learning as much as I have on here I realized I didn’t. I switched my reservation to a BEV.

Do you have two reservations? If you do and aren’t planning on buying two you only need one reservation. When it’s time to order we can pick any model, any power source. Just FYI in case you weren’t aware.

I share your concerns, also living in rural NM. Fiesta VW in Albuquerque is 30 miles away.
I know dealerships will take service money where ever and however they can get it. So, although they may not turn you down for an appointment, the legal mess of the VW dealerships suing VWAG of the DTC model, they may very well not do a very thorough job or they may gouge you for the service. Color me skeptical on VW dealerships.

Hopefully, I will have a physical location and mobile tech options in ABQ, NM. Too far to travel to Phoenix, Denver, or Dallas if they don't have this option in my state at the time of estimated delivery in +2027. I'm anticipating the I.C.E. extended range engine will need servicing at least once a year compared to the EV components.
Highly unlikely they will have a service center by delivery date. Tesla had no service center when the Model S and X came out and it took a few years for that to ramp up. They will likely look at the demographics of who and where vehicles are going and put SC in appropriate places, but I wouldn't hold my breath for one in your town for quite a while. If ABQ is a hotbed for sales...maybe, but I'm skeptical. Technically Scout is a start up with good financial and technical backing, but they are not VWAG.
