  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Terra BEV. Love my current gas truck but want to get into EVs and the more I talk to friends and family with EVs the less I'm worried about range. Charge networks are only going to get better over the next few years.

I'm really curious what the MPG will be when the Harvester generator is running. Hearing that the RamCharger will get around 20-21mpg highway when running the gas generator is absurd and really kills some of the efficiency benefit of an EV and adds all the maintenance of an ICE back into the equation as well.

I reserved the Terra - Harvester in hopes that Scout will won't fail me in terms of limiting the tow capacity of 5,000 lbs (Rumored).

I'd pay more for a stronger battery with the harvester to prevent limiting the towing from 10,000 to 5,000 lbs.

I will probably cancel if the rumor is true.
I'd watched a few videos on this, namely comparing the RamCharger to the Harvester, and likely what will limit the towing capacity is the generator output, rather than the battery. RamCharger can tow more because it has a much larger V6 powering a bigger generator (130kw I think).

I reserved a Traveler but wonder If I shouldn’t have reserved a Tera also. If final options are different or capabilities are much different I may prefer one over the other. Hmm maybe I should go reserve a truck now as well.
Thats what I did when the towing capacity conversation kicked off.... but if the stars align I may buy both.

I should know in a few months if I can. Crossing all my fingers and toes.

I can't wait to be able to build and price my Traveler Harvester! Just to sit and play with an online configurator will eat many hours of my life to come... haha
For real! I do this for a few hours a day with the F250 and Rivian configurator.

Scout really needs to get on this to keep the hype going.

Slate has a great one too and people are still playing with it despite no pricing being available yet.

Terra - Harvester for me. Still hoping original estimates from Scout on pricing hold close to true. After paying over $70k for my last F-150, I was so excited that they had them at just under $60k, but I'm worried that isn't going to be the case now.....
Welcome to the community! I may have already welcomed you, but if I didn’t, welcome.

We all have that cost concern. It’s pretty universal.

All I can say is I went to Nationals in Ohio in June. I have a thread where I’m still posting pictures, my husband took tons. Anyway, with regard to cost, they had a presentation that day and someone specifically asked about cost. The SM employee that answered stated that they are going to be $20,000 less than their direct competitors.

Right now my motto is faith and patience. They haven’t let me down yet so I have faith, and all I can do is have patience right now.

A great follow is @Jamie@ScoutMotors he keeps us updated from the manufacturer side.

Welcome again!

I have faith they will also come in close to the $60k they said (without incentives) unless major changes economically happen in the next couple of years. I'm not expecting the $60k version to look like the interior concepts though, nor have the 35" wheels etc.

Welcome man!

This is the most recent official source about pricing.

Crossing my finger for everyone.

I'm very excited for my Traveler suv. I think it will be a great vehicle. Looking forward to being able to play with the customization tools.

Scout. “People. Connections. Community. Authenticity." Welcome to the Scout community. Enjoy the ride. 🛻 🚙
Remember the built in search on the forums is a great place to start getting answers to your many questions. 😀

That said, I'd also be very surprised if they come in anywhere near the anticipated $60k range. Based on even the current look of the prototypes and the comparison to available 60k range vehicles, I'd put the Scout vehicles closer in line with Rivian pricing. I'm anticipating and planning for an out the door price of high 5 to low 6 digits.

Hello. That seems to be a universal concern about the price. Not quite as high as you are anticipating tho. Lots of $70 to $85k numbers being thrown about.

I attended their presentation at Nats in June in Ohio and a member of the audience asked the price question. They stated they will be $20k less than their competitors.

My motto at the moment is faith and patience. Faith in that Scout hasn’t let me down yet and we just have to have patience.

He also posts pictures every Friday!

One other note, Rivian doesn’t have the buying power of VWAG. I would imagine that will help keep costs down.

That’s a blessing to hear!

We shall see. My post wasn't a concern, just an observation. My normal car budget is typically around 120k. I'd love to see them hit their target retail price but I would also be very surprised if it's feasible. Plus, announcing firm pricing before material acquisition is established and manufacturing begins feels a bit foolish. Economic conditions change and inventory establishment will more or less dictate how they need to be priced to hit profitability and sustainable manufacturing.
Again, it would be great if they can hit their anticipated / released expectations for pricing but I just don't see it as realistic.

I would just hope they saw what happened when Rivian launch at a higher price and so many people cancelled their reservations that the CEO apologized and said if people came back they would sell it to them for the lower price.

We just have to wait and seen.

Welcome again.

Okay guys and gals, I have a question. I just went on Toyotas website and built a 4Runner TRD Pro and added things like
Roof racks and steps and dashcams and lights in the back, etc, etc. That vehicle starts at $68,000 and I got it up to a little under $75,000.

I know it’s a hybrid and not an EREV, but what other things would make a Traveler tens of thousands of dollars more than a fully loaded TRD PRO?

VWAG has similar buying power to Toyota I would assume.
