Just for fun…Have you named your Scout already?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Just for fun this Friday just wanted to get an idea if people name their cars and if so have you already named your Scout?

We name our cars in this family. It really started with the Jeep and we have a theme going.

2013 Jeep Wrangler - Rain
2022 Toyota Supra - Thunder
2023 Hyundai Elantra N - Lightning
2023 Hyundai Venue - Tornado (my son who would not drive if he could, this is his car and he is a fairly new driver so watch out, ha!)

When I thought about what I would name my Scout I thought what would encompass all those names into one. Storm!

Now just patiently waiting for Storm….Happy Friday!

My parents got into the tradition of giving things cute names early in their marriage (their weirdo pet names for each other and for us will be a mystery, but Scoutsie was an evolution of their weird pet names for things). I figured it would be Scoutsie Jr. or possibly Scoutsie II.

I could never think of a good name for my Prius. It didn’t seem like it was worthy of a name other than “the Prius” and never had a name. I think if I gave it a name, I would be more wrapped up in its care. 😅 A Scout deserves a good name, though.

Maybe Scoutsie Jr. can be Juliette (after Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts in the US)?

My '66 Scout 800 has been Tuff 66 for as long as I can remember (over 40 yrs now).

Some ideas for naming a Scout EV, off the top of my head:
  • Sparky (though this name is probably overused by now)
  • Wyatt (perfect for an off-road build, yes?)
  • Joules
  • Kilovolt (the Scouts will be a lot bigger than the Chevy Volt after all)
  • D-Cell (which sounds like "diesel" when spoken, so could be funny)
  • Electra (but only if you are a Marvel fan :))

Some other ideas based on the idea that the trucks will be "quiet" rather than "electric":
  • Whisper
  • Golden ("Silence is Golden")
  • Shadow (if you get black)
  • Nightfall (if you get grey)

Serenity... all my cars are Serenity... "Take My Love, Take My Land, Take Me Where I Cannot Stand... There's No Place I'd Rather Be, 'Till I found Serenity..."
I’d love to see a Scout commercial with a Traveler driving off road through a western landscape with Alan Tudyk at the wheel, Gina Torres riding shotgun and Nathan Fillion poking his head up through the open cabana top.

When I wanted it all blacked out the name was Night fury (how to train your dragon if not in the know). Even found a great sticker with the tail with half red and half black. It stemmed from when I saw this beauty on the internet and prayed Honda would just bring back the S2000. So this was originally night fury

I loved our S2000. The one car we should not have sold. Beautiful car and great name! Team yellow now…uh I mean aquamarine. That’s it aquamarine. Wink, wink.

I currently refer to the TRX as Fat Bastard. I’m not sure my wife has ever named her Colorado ZR2? I figure the name for the Scout will come to me/us after delivery. I currently have a Traveler reserved, but I’m tempted to change to a Terra. That’s the harder question to answer!

Decisions, decisions….
