From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Admittedly I don’t spend money on much of anything else-don’t golf, don’t smoke, rarely even drink anymore but cars I enjoy! Right now I really want a 20th anniversary Audi TT convertible but they are going for more now than new 5 years ago. It’s crazySeven years! Holy smoke. I have the shakes just thinking about it.I'm not quite as "bad" as twice a year, but about every two years or so. This one is going to be three because I'm waiting for Scout and its ... its tough.
They were going to make one. Had a name for it and everything. Then they scrapped the plans.
It wasn’t just that it only got basically the same mpg as the Jeep, it was that the steering was awful for me, it had no power seats, no gauge cluster in front of your face. Heck the batteries were under the back seat so you could go through deeper water. It’s really made to be an overlander.
This is why I keep saying my perfect Traveler has a “off-road appearance package”. I don’t tow or go off-road. I want power seats that heat and ventilation would be awesome as well.
My vague recollection is that there are a number of states with specific exceptions for Tesla, but even with that there are some states they can’t sell in, ironically including Texas. IIRC workarounds include stuff like technically buying in a different state and having some sort of delivery or something. Dunno about rivian, but I guess it’s similar with fewer special exemptions.
I don't fully keep up - but last I heard was Tesla's that are made in Texas have to be shipped out of state to be sold back into Texas. That said, I kind of wonder if it is their only work around. While people bash the Cybertruck, they are fairly common in Texas now (or at least common in the parts of Texas I travel). Almost common enough that I wonder if their is not a Tesla/Drilling Company/SpaceX loophole (or maybe a lease loophole that is being used by those companies).
