January 2026 Scout Production Center Update

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Not to nit-pick, but the 5th full paragraph has some pretty gnarly spelling/grammatical mistakes. Also, it states "...a battery-electric model with an estimated 300-mile range offering more than 500 miles, or a full battery electric model with more", so are there now updated numbers and the EV is less than originally expected or more than originally expected? Don't want to be that guy, but was this written by AI or just not vetted very well before posting? The rest of the article is fine, but the information before the section regarding the update seems like a mess.

Looks to me like the last sentence in that paragraph was supposed to end with a period after the "estimated 300 mile range."

I don’t think anything has changed. I think it’s a typo.

@Jamie@ScoutMotors can we please get confirmation that nothing has changed with the range estimates.

BEV estimated 350 mile range
EREV estimated 150 battery/350 Harvester for a total of 500

It looks like that one paragraph needs to be fixed, it doesn’t make a lot of sense honestly when read.

Hoping it is a mistake. I recalled the VW Buzz range progressively dropping too though-till I stopped paying attention because I had no interest left. The problem with a 250 mile range is I can not drive to any nearby city without needing to recharge to get home. A published 300 mile range means I can not rely on always getting that 250 round trip (even going 100% to low battery cut off).

I am ok with a standard range model at 300 miles - especially if a long range model above 350 is offered as a reasonably priced upgrade. But honestly would prefer the standard range to be starting at 350.
