Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I know there are many requests for 2 door Scout as a direct analog to the Bronco/Wrangler 2 doors, but these really don't sell well, despite all the online requests.

That isn't what I have in mind. I'm thinking something more Rav4 like in size and efficiency. This is my ideal sized vehicle, and it is the #1 selling non pickup truck in the USA, so if you want to target a segment after the pickup and mid size SUV, it's a natural target (and would have much more sales than a 2 door Wrangler analog).

I know these are derisively referred to as "Cute-Ute", and universally they have quite low capability, but that is how Scout could stand out from the field. It doesn't have to match it's bigger brothers off road, just clearly best the "Cute Utes". Just a bit better ground clearance, better approach and departure, and crucially an available, real, rear locker would put it far ahead of the "Cute-Utes", while maintaining their practicality, drivability, and park-ability... That would be a stand out in one of the biggest market segments there is...

Call the Sport in comparison to Bronco Sport, or call it Eagle Scout...

I finally saw an old military Jeep at a car show. I was surprised how little it was! View attachment 6167
Proving my age, but I have fond memories crossing Gitmo Bay, Cuba on a ferry while driving around the Navy grey version of this piece of automotive history. For sure it was a bucket list item. From the floor starter switch, a 3-speed paired with a 4 cyl with 60hp(?) and steering with atleast a quarter turn of slack....lol. What a precursor for the CJ...I think I will evolve into a future Scout for my bucket lust (list).

I'm guessing these R3's are going to fill part of that void and be wicked fun to drive... Or RALLY.

Good news is that they will launch that R3X prior to the base R3... Sometime later in '26 / early '27 was the plan.
I’m 20 minutes from the factory. I went out there to test drive an R1S a while ago. It’s huge but they are trying to expand more. They just need more capacity. The city gave them a big tax incentive to build more so crossing my fingers they just keep growing. Good for the local economy.

They are having an event there starting today in fact where you can go see all the vehicles that are available and test drive them. That’s the first time I remember them doing that.
