FB find of the day

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So what does she like and what is her first choice color this far?
The Traveler BEV with 32" or 33” tires.
Of the “official” colors released so far, the Pacific Mist and Silo are her favorite.

She doesn’t have a strong preference for color. Mostly she doesn’t want it to look dirty after being driven on our gravel road… So nothing too bright. Something somewhat with some tan or red, or at least a muted color so the dust doesn’t stand out.
She also doesn’t like the stronger colors I like—she doesn’t like to bring attention to herself. I regret getting the very bright blue of our Mustang for that reason.

But the Traveler still looks HUGE to her, so we don’t know if we’ll end up with it. We’ll have to see it in person.

If Toyota released a BEV 4Runner, if the R2 is more capable than we expect, or if we can find an R1S (also too big) for a reasonable price, we may choose not to buy a Traveler.

We’re also happy with the Mustang for now, but we’ll see what things look like in a few years. It’s looking like I’m going to be “retired” against my will this year, and by the time sense returns to our country, I may be too old to feel like getting back into it again...so we may be sticking with the Mustang and the Lightning for the next 20-30 years.

Hang in there. Maybe this fall will bring some common sense back into daily life

Yeah. Here’s to hoping.

It’s weird. I haven’t been unemployed since I was about six years old.
I have a lot to do on the workshop and around the ranch, so it’s not like I won’t be busy. But still...
Been unemployed twice. Hate the feeling. Once I lined up work but it was 2 month delay until they were ready. Second time I get 10 weeks severance which helped a bit to make decisions and ended up with 2 choices when I finally committed. Still believe when one door closes another door opens.
