Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Fair point. Quality wise I sure hope they are the same. Assuming that Bimmer will have some sort of adaptive suspension being a top tier model
I believe adaptive air ride of some sort, but who knows since every-time the suspension geometry changes tire wear pattern changes. Definitely wont be Magneto-Rheological suspension good luck trying to find what vehicles use that only a few do.

I don't think I've ever heard of anybody hoping for BMW quality out of a new car. :ROFLMAO:

I'm gonna miss the magnetic ride control in my current car. Jack of all trades- get seasick floating down the highway like an 80's Cadillac with busted shocks or cranked down for a day at the track.

I’ll clarify that 🤣. Pre-warranty quality and more on fit and finish and material quality. Like many-I made sure to dump mine before the warranty expired 😂

The Neue Klasse crossovers arent' the prettiest things on the road - got to see the iX3 up close in Germany last month and it's pretty ugly in person, the iX5 looks a bit more natural but still pretty messy. The sedans look GREAT to my eye, can't wait to see them show up here. I also got to see GLC electric in motion and I'm a big fan, looks great in more metallic tones that match the grill - but solid colors with big contrast make it look like a fish, but overall proportions are light years better than the BMW.

As far as performance, there's really nothing in the Rivian/Scout world to compare against - they're just fundamentally different vehicles. Nobody in Germany is pretending these have any real off-pavement capability. They're desgined to corner and do so with max efficiency on BIG batteries because the packaging allows for it.

That’s what everyone says, they said it about the last face lift.

All the haters become supporters real quick once they see them in person.

Funny story - We went to Oktoberfest in Munich, and I had scheduled a 1:1 session with a product specialist to see the ix3 at the BMW Welt Museum/Delivery Center, because it was on the short list for Mrs. ROMR.

3 days earlier we were in Dublin visiting our daughter. I'm standing on the corner with my oldest and one of the iX3s rolls 3 feet in front of and stops. I immediately wince at it cuz now I know EXACTLY what the wife is going to say when she sees one. I ask the oldest, she says "Eww" ;-)

Sure enough, We left the Munich hotel one morning the day before our appointment, an iX3 pulled up outside in the circle and she immediately said "NOPE".

Appointment cancelled.

I got a kick out of Bob Lutz podcast last week with MotoMan, where he absolutely laid into current German design.
He's not wrong.

Everyone needs to look at classic bmws and see their designs. Old BMWs were pretty.
