I'm with @cyure . Everything does look wrong. It's too rounded and has that weird bump-out in the back. At least I hope that's not the production model because that's not what I signed up for.

From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. That’s not a production model. Nothing matches. This things has fender flares and a shark fin and a license plate dent in the middle of the back hatch. It’s not right.
Now does that look like any large VW or Audi product because that’s what they would need for a Traveler mule.
Also just an FYI, I have asked at every event I have attended, to multiple team members I might add, and have been assured of two things.
1. The concepts are 85% of what the production vehicles will look like.
2. The production vehicles look like the concepts.
This doesn’t sound like a situation where the production vehicles are a 180 from what the concept is.

I mean yeah they aren’t production models. I was mostly talking about them being the mules that they have been testing for awhile. For sure that rear recovery hook is Scout based and so is the trailer hitch based on the concepts we’ve seen for a few years now. These could likely being going to a facility for more testing. But clearly we are seeing more progress of them truly testing these models
Maybe they are having one last hoorah before they get there real skins in a few months
That’s likely given they launch next year. We should see the switch up by early next year.
Then again who says these Frankenstein’s have to look like the concept? If they are testing the guts of the thing it could look like anything else.
Books look bolted on on top of wrap. I think the rear upper sweep is more aerodynamic that the scout and even with the spoiler it looks too aerodynamic to be the Scout. Now if it is all Frankenstein parts I could see possibility but hard to fake that upper rear rake
We all know that Scout was testing Frankenmules (or whatver they were called) and that they looked absolutely NOTHING like the prototypes that have been shown (and represent the exterior skins of the actual production trucks).
The mule testing was for hardening specific components & a lot of stuff we can't see under "the skin", so looks didn't really matter. It's just another "phase of testing" that will lead to yet another phase of testing with pre-production vehicles that actually have the spec'd battery, suspension, etc. That version likely won't have the final production SW finalized before it starts testing, but it will be much closer to production and beused for QA. Then we will likely see everything connected and live in pre-production vehicles and we'll see actual spec's coming through based on configurations (Harvester, BEV, Tire/wheel combos, etc.). We still need to see Scout run through these phases of development to reach the finish line (and I am greatly simplifying things).

Definitely appears to be an SUV on a frame, and that's possibly the Harvester under the back end, but there doesn't appear to be a solid rear axle, so if this is a mule, it might just be for testing the Harvester genset and not much else. Maybe software related to the Harvester as well?
Edit- nevermind, the rear axle would be sitting up higher than what I'm seeing. There's something like a large black tray hanging off the bottom, battery/skid protection perhaps? The side frame looks about right, and the rear outboard shocks canted back look about right too.

Still agreeing but manufacturers often add stuff just to throw off the keen eyed observers. Though it’s still not a scout
If these were mules simply for testing the battery packs and the UI and programming and maybe suspensions it could be possible. Those could all be tested hidden under a 3-D printed body or another VW product with stuff bolted on so nobody knows who it belongs to and to some degree-isn’t that the point of the disguising efforts?
Yeah the whole purpose is to test internals without the correct body to see how various systems work. It’s great to actually see the mules and how they look before they switch to a prototype running the actual body.
