From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Compared to the current other 3 row BEV offerings, IMO, the Ioniq 9 is head and shoulders better.The Ioniq 9 is especially nice. We test drove an Ioniq 9 and my wife would have taken that as her daily driver had she not had less than 2000 miles on her current vehicle. I'm sure she has the fever for a BEV now. I'm glad I made an extra Scout reservation a while back.
The EV9 is based on the same platform, but is enough smaller that its noticeable, and... feels like it was designed by people that don't understand how families use vehicles. The seats were uncomfortable, there is very little storage around the front/second row (the center console would barely fit 4 decks of cards), the temperature control settings weren't visible by the driver (the steering wheel blocks it), etc, etc, etc.
The ID Buzz has way too short of range (almost 100 miles less), and is missing cupholders in the second row.
The Cadilac vistiq actually looks half decent. But was out of our price range. And is a bit of a "reverse tardis" in terms of interior space vs exterior space. Its 6 inches longer than the Ioniq 9 in total length, but has 7 cubic ft less cargo space behind the third row (15.2ft^3 vs 21.9ft^3). The rest of the cargo capacity is actually pretty similar, but with 7 people in it, the 30% reduction in cargo capacity is a pretty big deal.
