Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
If the fossil fuel subsidies ended, the savings on EVs would be painfully obvious while also saving trillions in tax dollars.
I was ignorant to (or at least forgot) the fact that our government subsidizes fossil fuel. I learn so much on this forum and once I dig a little deeper outside of these posts, I realize that there are probably many folks like myself that are unaware. Here's a portion of what Google AI returned when I asked "Does the US government subsidize gasoline":

"Yes, the US government provides subsidies to the fossil fuel industry through a combination of direct tax breaks, such as deductions for drilling costs, and indirect subsidies. These subsidies are estimated to be worth billions of dollars annually and include both explicit financial support and implicit costs, like not pricing in the environmental damage from pollution."

The details are even more disturbing.

Also, I have difficulty reading comments on Facebook for the Scout ads. Like this one..."Nice looking vehicle. Now all it needs is an iron block turbo-diesel engine". The original Scout was ahead of its time as an SUV and look at where the SUV market is now. I applaud Scout Motors in having the vision for the new Scout. It may be a little ahead of it when it rolls off the production line for the first time, but hopefully some of the misinformation and negativity of EVs will have settled by then. I'll keep my old Scout for its ICE but looking forward to have an EV as my daily driver. I think the ICEs will still have there place in the future and I currently plan to hold onto my 79 Scout for the nostalgia and maybe even a restoration.

Thanks to those in the forum who educate and enlighten.

There are a few 4x4 vans, probably a couple companies that lift them. My family enjoyed our Sienna a lot, so the offroad version interested me.

I'm OK with the body of that Audi, but not a fan of the front end. Reminds me of Angry Birds for some reason. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Wow-you said it, I looked and you are right. I can see that. I know Audi is changing the corporate face again and this is somebody’s render-doubt it’s official but I think they could do better on front end. While my wife doesn’t want a Scout (she’s happy I do) I can see her wanting an Audi version 🤣
It really looks like a Defender. I wonder if that is that Audi Hard Core project that I saw mentioned in an article a while back.
could be. It’s been discussed in several early articles that Audi wants a legit off-roader so guessing at some point VWAG will allow Audi to play in the Scout sandbox
