From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Seems adding an external Battery Pack is harder than they thought. I think Time voted the Yugo "Worst Car Ever"
I was at the auto show once sitting in a Yugo and one of the reps came and asked me what I thought and I basically said this thing is a piece of crap in different words. When we were walking away my husband said didn’t you notice they were filming you? Guess I didn’t make their highlight reel. Ha!
Yeah I mean that's cool but they aren't really doing anything all that special, they're basically just throwing more power at it.
I build and fly FPV drones and we've had those types of C-ratings in lipo packs for drones for years. Put enough of those cells together and push a MegaWatt at them and sure you'll have ridiculously fast charging times. The challenge is to actually be able to reliably get MegaWatt grid connections for a widespread charging network and to ensure the cells survive years of that type of charging.
It's impressive sure, but it's not exactly a breakthrough or anything.

Agreed. People get all fired up about super fast charging but the grid is not built to handle megawatt swings in demand hundreds of times per day. The only way to achieve this would be to have large battery packs at the charging site that could dump power quickly and then slowly recharge from the grid in between charging sessions. But that adds a ton of upfront costs plus maintenance of the batteries.
