Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It hadn’t even dawned on me that there might not be an option to buy an extended warranty.

According to this Rivian is testing it in Texas right now.

A $340,000 electric Cadillac. According to this they had to do some creative placement with the battery to get it to fit.

Very interesting. I read an article maybe 1-1/2 years ago that had a company exploring 3-d printing the batteries. The idea was that they could be shaped to fit anywhere like dead pockets around a frunk, inside ‘C’ pillars and other areas where typical batteries wouldn’t fit. It’s a great concept for Cadillac but $340k. Come on!!! Not a chance. Lexus maybe

If I was going to spend that kind of money on a car it would not be a Cadillac. Rolls-Royce Spectre all the way.

It seems Richland County has found itself in a bit of trouble.

Audi's built at the Scout Plant?
Listen at 0:0:33
I'd much rather my Scout be built.
There have been some previous comments about contract building or sharing the space. 200,000 is a lot of capacity for a new brand no matter how enthusiastic we are. There are millions of potential buyers that still have no idea what Scout is.

Ever since I answered the " what does everyone do for a living" with "Environmental Consulting" I have been waiting for Jaime or even Scott to contact me for help. Perhaps a trade ;) just kidding big companies dont do that. This sounds like maybe the local county officials were not well enough informed on State and Federal regulations. Our intuial service is a hazardous material inventory of all hazadous products that have potential for release that are stored or processed. New PFAs chemical are added to the Toxic Release Inventory TRI lists this year. Love to help.

That’s on them, can’t blame Scout for it. Richland County hired these subcontractors along with the General contractor, which I forgot the name of, not like we need to blast them or anything.
Landmark was the site contractor. Not sure why I remembered that. And I agree-the county hired the contractors-not Scout Motors-which in that industry is really odd. Must be a SC thing as nobody in the Northeast has their projects handled by the government-too much liability. Even in PA they can approve all plans, do site/building inspections and then at the end bend you over and claim stuff they approved is wrong. So messed up and power tripping.

Landmark is a pretty big and reputable company from Charleston. I’m pretty sure that the government involvement in the building process is because of incentives given and the infrastructure that had to pass through surrounding areas to get to the site. I think…

I’m hopeful they get the issue resolved quickly and it doesn’t lead to any delays.

I had a suspicion of that as well but still a very unusual approach. For road infrastructure sure but private interest is unusual. Thanks for the insight

Seems it's only a fine, and it's because of the riverbanks that took damage from the runoff. which that run off was cleaned up by a vacuum truck
There was unprecedented storms last year on top of things which just added more wear and tear but somebody should have had the job to check the temporary SWM provision s to be sure they were t failing

Follow the money. I’d not be surprised if NADA and coalition of dealers against DTC had anything to do with encouraging action over muddy rain water. If chemicals were spilling or serious damage but $1M is wild.
