Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I think they are still deciding on what to do mainly because no one knows how much the tariffs will affect it so I don’t really think they are going to commit to were it is going to be built but I still would prefer the range extender to be built in the US
I just don’t see them getting that up and running in time unless they delay the EREV launch. And then what happens in new administration comes in and dissolves the tariffs-now you’ve built a large plant and paying premium wages vs just eating the engine tariff. Easiest way around it is go BEV then no issue. Since the harvester (in my mind) is an upgrade/enhanced feature the cost will be what it is. IF I were looking at Harvester I’d rather have the engine come from Germany than Mexico just based on quality from experience I’ve heard from VW techs.

Mexico has lots of experience building VW engines and vehicles. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Nothing more American than watching the Kentucky Derby. Only not so American thing is that I didn’t see ONE scout commercial. Sad!

I don't want to see any TV advertising from Scout until they can put firm delivery dates into their commercials. I remember the Ram commercial in the Superbowl. I was excited beforehand because I heard that Ram was finally going to announce their BEV and EREV trucks.

Then I saw the commercial.

That super expensive Superbowl add had no info whatsoever. I was totally pissed off. That commercial aired two years ago. Ram still has not delivered their EREV and has delayed the BEV. That commercial was worse then doing nothing, since it convinced me to not even consider the Ram truck.

I get what you are saying but they can say the same as what’s on their website. Production anticipated for 2027. The more people that know about the Scout and place reservations and ultimately convert to orders the better. I want them to be as successful as possible right out of the gate.

I agree 100%

A supplier park is a great idea if they can keep it at capacity. I have seen some of these go slowly by the wayside and just add to blight. Let's hope they have a better formula.

This article states 120kwh battery for the EV. I haven’t seen that definitely anywhere yet. Is this accurate and did I miss it?
Interesting. Hoping maybe @Jamie@ScoutMotors confirms the information in that article. The battery and the engine from Mexico
