Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
These are really cool cars. I saw a ton of them last year when I was in Italy. It means little mouse. They are mostly made of plastic which is a bummer, but it doesn't rust. It is hard to describe them as a car. They are faster than a LSV, but not fast enough for the highway. Definitely a city car.

I definitely will!

And it's not too bad... replaced all the brakes, tires, pressure sensors, and something else that was broken that needed to be fixed to pass inspection o_O
I hear about these inspections. That’s one thing I like about Illinois. No inspections and no matter how much your car is worth the registration fee is $151. It certainly wasn’t like that when we lived in California.

Our LSV (Golf Cart) will go 29 mph. This allows use to take it to the grocery store. Although we don't. The standard Golf carts will go 19 mph.

I’m really hoping my tires last. If they don’t I’m throwing whatever is cheap on there just to get by.
Mine have to changed in a few months, but in a car with no spare and 100 + daily miles I have buy the “healing” tires. Otherwise my family owned tire shop could save me 90% on new tires, but they don’t have stock options for healing tires

I wonder if there’s some kind of program Scout Motors could implement where they started leasing used EVs to people who are in need of a new vehicle sooner than their production dates… They could buy up a few thousand gently-used EVs, lease them to reservation holders for 2-3 years and then take them back when the Scout is delivered. Then re-sell them after. I’m sure some actuary could come up with the right numbers to make this profitable for Scout while also helping out their potential customers...

Now that’s thinking outside of the box.

I think this came up either here or in another thread? I am 100% in on leasing a VW/Audi EV or hybrid until I take delivery.

Edit: here it is! https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/vw-audi-lease-program-while-waiting.1038/
