Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsâ„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Article about the Rivian van. It is just the right shape to make a great camper. 😹

I was just reading about the Coachmen RVEX, which is based on the GM Brightdrop van. They’re targeting 270 miles range on a 174 kWh motive battery with a 1000 watt solar system and a 48 kWh house battery. With a 48 kWh house battery, one could easily use the house battery to add a good 24+ kWh (14%) to the motive battery overnight while boondocking. I’d add more solar to the van, though.

Jeep is releasing an EREV before Scout. No thanks.

Honestly I like all of the exterior changes they made for this mid-cycle refresh. Why you would buy one over a Chevy/GMC/Cadillac is beyond me (and I have a Stockholm syndrome like relationship with Jeep.....god I miss my Commander).

I can imagine how readily they switched platforms from RAM to Jeep. The 4xe was ready for an EREV transition: shrinking of the engine, growth of the battery, and use of the Wagoneer S motors.

But

I'll believe it's available when I see one on the streets. Stellantis has been pulling out of the musk playbook of making promises without any basis in reality. If they pull it off then that's great.

620 lb-ft or torque? Whimpy! Whimpy! Whimpy!

Cybertruck numbers. No wonder his other companies are buying them. My question is how long till they stop making them.

Until the robovan and robotaxi come out. And either way, he can always make cyber trucks for his companies, eventually it will become his very own private company vehicles, that the public can't buy.

Ohh boy not another Stellantis fail...

I'm not so sure about Jeep's claim. The BMW i3 REx was America's first pure EREV available on the market so Jeep is wrong unless they're going for the meaningless "....that's made in America" subcategory of that statement in which case, yes gold star for them.

New YouTube video
I watched this. Wasn’t real impressed with this guy but maybe it’s just me. I don’t think I’m his demographic but was good to hear an opinion that just crapped on them being EV because when he started I was sure that was where it was headed. I also think his backpack is the one that showed up in some of the posted pics.
