Concepts on Display at the Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC October 10th

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hi all,

During the month of October, Scout Motors is the official automotive partner of the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. On October 10th, at Whitewater Center's famous Build Your Own Boat Festival, both the Silver Traveler and Terra concept vehicles will be on display from 12 pm to 5:30 pm. If you missed them at Harvester Fest, this is another opportunity to see them.

I guess there will be a few on this forum that come down with a migraine that day at about 11am -for those that do feel better and I recommend a drive to nature to ease your suffering

I'm going to get a bit salty here, but can the non-East-coasters/non-EST-time-zoners get some love here, Scout? I know it held an event in Seattle and another in Chicago (on short notice), not to mention the LA Auto Show, but everything else seems extremely East-coast biased. No offense to you over there (my family was born and raised in N.J. before my pops left after joining the military), so I love you all. I understand that this a heavily populated part of the Country that's likely to have disposable income and the conversion rates will be high, but with Scout's roots being in farming and the Midwest, I sure would like to see some marketing out in these regions. I'm not asking Scout to go to the middle of nowhere (sorry, Nebraskans, Iowans, and South and North Dakotans), but some love for the Midwest would be greatly appreciated. Think: Chicago (again), Minneapolis (YES!), Detroit, Indianapolis, Columbus (OH). Shoot, the West coast also has lots of people with disposable incomes who like to be outside too. I know it's hard because Scout only has three concept vehicles (two travelers and a Terra) and I'm not going to go to an event that doesn't feature them all (I want to see what I like and don't like). I can only imagine the difficulty in shipping those multi-million-dollar hogs across the Country. But I sure would like to see more events in more places across the Country in early-to-mid 2027.

Events with just two concept vehicles (with a third recently added) are really difficult to pull off. The concept vehicles are handmade, have special insurance requirements (security and transport), must be transported in climate-controlled trailers ($$$$), have limited mobility off the truck (they are largely designed to sit on a turntable and look pretty), and more. We are also at the mercy of the calendar: the vehicles need maintenance breaks, get rethemed 1-2 times per year (taking weeks), and we have to plan around logistics for where we can travel with them and where they need to be for a variety of Scout Motors uses. Since our headquarters and factory are in the Carolinas, the vehicles are in that area more often, which makes it easier to get them to a nearby venue like the Whitewater Center as a bonus.

So we feel your pain and frustration that we're more limited right now in where we can get around to. Here is a list of places we've shown them:

Events in the last 18 months:

- Seattle
- Scottsdale
- Fort Worth
- Denver
- Aspen
- Blythewood/Columbia SC
- Charlotte NC
- New York
- Chicago
- Dayton, OH
- Crossville, TN
- Los Angeles
- Dana Point
- Boston (coming up)

As we get closer to production and start producing preproduction vehicles, this will all be a non-issue. We will be doing a very active tour with the vehicles. Trucks will also be available to see and drive at our retail centers. People will finally be able to get in, slam doors, kick tires and drive the vehicles. We want to get the Scout in your hands just as much as you want a chance to drive and own them. But we still have a lot of work to do, testing to complete, and production and supply chains to dial in. We want to do it right and we owe that to all of you. Meanwhile, we'll do our best to take the concepts to more cities next year, start telling our development story, take you with us virtually for testing, start covering our first preproduction vehicles and the very first colors that roll out, and lots more. We have a LOT more to talk about (final specs, technical details, retail plans, etc., etc.). We knew this time period would be the toughest, but we appreciate you all coming along for the ride.

Thanks so much sir!

To those who have yet to make it to an event - it's amazing! Scout Motors does it right! To see the concepts in-person is truly worth the drive (not to mention meeting the amazing team pulling this all off!)

As @cyure says "faith and patience" (as hard as that is, we're much closer to production than the beginning in 2022!)

I was recently asked how many days I've been on this forum - had to look it up - 638 days! But can you imagine @J Alynn who has been on the forum (and waiting for 2 Scouts) for twice that long! over 1200 days!!! Kudos to you!
