Back To Baja 2025 - The Documentary

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
There’s two threads for the documentary for some reason. It was so fun seeing the truck in person at Nats. I didn’t realize they write your times on the truck. It was cool to see.

I like this documentary a lot! Glad the gents are safe and sound after that crazy roll over. Prayers to them for sure! I would love to see them do this all again in a new scout. Traveler or Terra with the harvester range extender! Or I will just volunteer myself to do it with them in a new one! Scout are you hearing me!!🤣
I like the idea but would be even more impressive to run the BEV and just have the chase crew bring a generator and try to be the first to run an EV start to finish.

How bout our EV vehicle with modified batteries that are easy to swap in and out.... Then at a pit stop you just drop the dead battery and install a fresh one. Then charge the dead one as Sean and Owen are racing.

Batteries would get charges in a chase vehicle/trailer as they are to meet up with them at the next stop.

Well now you just opened a huge can of crazy talk. Everyone’s gonna want this option now 😀

That would be awesome. I've really been intrigued by the Baja scene the last few years and hoping to plan a trip with Slow Baja, it would be awesome to do this in an EV/BREV. The trips are typically 4-6 hours a day over 6 days. If the infrastructure would support an EV I'd be all in.

would love to do the slow Baja that you posted if nothing else just to experience the scenery and the culture but getting from east to west is just more than I’d be willing to do. If SM launched something where I could pay and just fly out I’d certainly consider it

Morning! I had the documentary on my iPad as I was making breakfast this morning and just listened to it. Sometimes you think differently about something when you just listen.

I really like the music. You know how fighters have walk out music. Well that could be our drive out music and they play that as we are driving our Scouts out of the factory on our way home.

Second, I know there’s some of us who want our Scouts to have different sounds it can make as we are driving. Like the Ioniq 5N has all those different engine noises. I totally want Terra race truck engine noise. That would be awesome!
The Bumble Bee will have noise like the passing of big bumble bee.
