I watched the interview the other day with Scott Keogh and it got me thinking.

If I had 30 seconds to ask Scott Keogh a question before he was whisked away by Agent K and Agent W what would I ask him?

My question for Mr. Keogh: Which Scout will you be driving first. Terra or Traveler and if Traveler will it be the Trail-Ready version or Mountainside?

Okay how about the rest of you all? What would you ask Mr. Keogh? (Wouldn’t it be crazy if he actually answered someone!)

While I like your question, I think I’d be more interested in his opinion of your idea about Scout community members assisting others with Traveler and Terra selection (and the possibility of being remote guides)…

That would be a good question to ask. Everyone will have something different to ask I would imagine.

It's a fun exercise, but I doubt Mr. Keogh would answer my questions unless under the influence. He's very tactful and diplomatic. I would like to know if he regrets going on Jay Leno (and mentioning the 5k towing). What kind of projects/ideas would he like to see implemented at Scout if they were given a blank check? What would a Scout be like if based on an existing VW Group ICE platform (and which platform and power train)?
For a non-automotive question: have you sampled the various BBQ styles in the region (vinegar whole hog, tomato, or mustard-based)? If so, do you have a favorite?

Where has the VW relationship had the biggest impact - engineering, manufacturing, procurement?
What's been the biggest opportunity for improvement with harvester that the engineering teams have overcome?
How many models and power train combos should we expect in the first few months of launch?
We've seen a half dozen concepts with variations in spec, how much of that variability will be available for early reservation holders when it comes time to place initial orders? Things like interior combos, available accessories...
Any big pivots software-wise or has the team simply continued to refine what we've already seen? Any fun new adds in the UI that users will be excited to see?

I’m in your boat. I like the off beat questions. My favorite for new people is “if you were to pick a candy bar that best represented you what would it be and why?”

In the line of @Chuckles , early on the story started with you buying a Scout and being on the beach and the idea came to you. I want to know if that is genuinely true or best story ever to kick off this whole adventure. I don’t care either way but if Scott is as savvy as I think (and I’m thinking VERY savvy) I suspect the idea to start the company came first (in his mind) then the scout II purchase then the marketing story. And Kudos for it all-because after nearly 4 years for my ride on here-it’s been a blast!

I've not heard that. He has indicated several times that it started with one employee (was it him?). If he did pitch it, I'd be curious to know what sold VW on the idea.

My question: other than the obvious physical characteristics, what differentiates Scout from Rivian as they both appear to want to play in the same sandbox.

What options have the engineers looked at to make the Scout more engaging to drive?

While a manual transmission would be stupid for this application, surely there are creative ideas/solutions to make the Scout drive less like a boring appliance. Dumb phones and manual transmissions are becoming more popular again as younger generations are recognizing that the mind-numbing trends of recent decades weren't as great as promised.

I would ask him about Quality Control in the upcoming production. So many manufacturers are pushing out low quality materials via what feels like gapped Quality Controls these days -- what is Scout doing now to avoid issues for customer's in the future?

They have a real chance to differentiate themselves from the market. PLEEEEAAASE FOCUS ON LONG TERM RELIABILITY.
