From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Love the look of the older Blazer but personally would end up veering over to the SUV side vs the truck
This is where all the people wanting a V8 Scout can migrate over to. If the number of people complaining about why the Scout does not have a V8 all convert over to the Jimmy, they will have millions of reservations overnight. Although, there will be people complaining about the Jimmy too. Why doesn't the top come off? Why doesn't it have a sweet diesel like the old, anemic 6.2?
I enjoy talking to an actual person at the dealership, however I don’t enjoy the BS that comes with it. I’m actually pretty excited about the direct to consumer model because previously I bought all my cars in person.
I’m very excited about DTC. I want to order exactly what I want and not settle for what’s on the lot at the time I show up.
I'm glad Scout is going with DTC. Only two thing i gonna miss about the dealerships, one being able to joke with the salesman, and lastly negotiating and winning.
My last two purchases have been completely done in an app and I love it! When I actually took delivery I was at the service centers maybe 30 mins tops, and they were easily two of the best vehicle purchase experiences I've ever had.
The only thing about DTC that has me a little concerned is I'd like to be able to test-drive one at some point. Photos can only do so much for me. I want to know how it feels before I pull a $60k trigger. Other than that, I'm totally down with not having to deal with a bunch of people constantly trying to upsell and tack on unnecessary costs.
You can test drive Rivians and Teslas, both of which are DTC. I'm assuming Scout will be similar.
Test drives should be available at events before mass production starts (based on what info we’ve been given) and should be available at the experience/service centers as they start popping up closer to (and post) launch
There’s about 3 dozen of them and they keep adding more. I’m sure Scout will be the same. At some point it will be easier to test drive, but in the beginning if you have the opportunity to order early, you may be ordering before you have the ability to test drive, just like early Rivian owners.In your defense, Rivian only has a handful of them
I don’t like dealerships but it’s strange to me that people have not been able to order. In my area every dealership I’ve wanted to order (if they couldn’t find what I wanted) accommodated ordering. Even our 1999.5 Nissan pathfinder the dealer had custom leather put in because the limited model and exterior color didn’t offer leather so we selected dual color, they priced it and we had it all done. Never understand the short sightedness of dealers. Gestures like that build trust and a longer term relationship. We bought two more Nissan’s from the dealer
Five of those have been built by a family friend of mine. Because Rivian made them public jobs that could be bidded on.
