Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Im seeing trends with my secret data that EVs, Hybrids, etc. are starting to sell better again now with gas rising. It's all about the market and how it adapts. Obviously yeah sales went down with no incentives. But people will buy what fits them. And the gas prices fluctuating massively these past weeks. Yeah EVs are gonna sell. But question now is how long until energy prices rise?

Then were gonna see people riding bikes again maybe even horse n' buggy, or what i call "J Alynn Style"
I have short legged ponies -rolling low!

This isnt exactly news and more of me just learning something and then shouting into the ether but... the Jeep Recon is 193.3in long? Thats huge!

I thought it was like cherokee sized but its the same size as the grand cherokee but still has less storage space than the R2 which is shorter by over half a foot!

The Jeep Recon was one I was initially interested in, in the concept/idea. But, execution... leaves much to be desired. Its not even on my radar anymore. That is larger than the Scout Traveler will be without the tire carrier.

And personally, it drives me bonkers how some vehicles are "reverse tardis" vehicles.

Again, I was shopping for a 3 row midsize SUV lately. And it was crazy to compare things like the Mazda CX90, and the Hyundai Ioniq 9. Given, a minivan is better on most other metrics, but its crazy to me how different some vehicles are in the same class.

CX90 is a really good looking car IMO. But I am curious as to why the Lucid Gravity did not make your list?

FWIW, the list was... large. I think my excel file has ~ 13 row vehicles on it that we really considered (Toyota Sienna/Grand Highlander/Highlander, Hyundai Palisade/Santa Fe, Subaru Ascent, Nissan Pathfinder, Honda Pilot/Odyessey, Kia EV9/Telluride, Mazda CX90, VW ID Buzz)

The Gravity was not on the list... simply because I can't afford one. The "cheaper" gravity wasn't on the market yet, but even then, its still way over our budget. For context, the Ioniq 9 we bought has an MSRP of ~$67k, and we paid~$50k. But the cheapest Gravity available now is a touch over $80k, and at the time, it was like $100k.

Hence me be worried about the Scouts.

Makes total sense. Its shocking how much you get with the Ioniq for the money, not to mention solid charging. I think SM will be high initially at Launch (just like R2 and everything else for that matter) but to survive they'll have to get the cost down somehow.

Yep, I'm mentally preparing myself.

The Gravities specs for the top model are nice. But the lower priced version is actually quite close to the Ioniq 9 in many aspects. Range of 337miles vs 320 miles. 10%-80% in ~23min vs 24min.

So agreed, the value perspective of the Ioniq 9 is pretty strong, especially as gas prices climb. But even before then, I paid the same for mine as I would an XLE Grand Highlander Hybrid, or about what a Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Awd.
