Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
He did. @Jamie@ScoutMotors can we please get clarification. In the newest interview “The Benj” says level 2 and you have stated level 2+. Which one will our Scouts have? Please and thank you.

As has been pointed out, Level II+ doesn't "officially" exist. That said, I got clarification and we will have Level II+ meaning some hands-free capabilities. Subject to final certifications and last minute changes.

That you for keeping us up on the latest. But, I do have a question. LiDAR or no LiDAR? Sounds like no LiDAR.

Unfortunately in a video from CES (trying to find it now) last year they said it would be vision only and I have not seen any updates to contradict that. I am really hoping they change course but at this point it seems unlikely at least for the 1st gen vehicles

This is what I was trying to confirm. This is what I surmise as well.

Things like this make me happy. That way when my Gen 1 Scout needs to be updated it will still be possible.

OTA is standard these days and a very good update path.

With Rivian planning LIDAR in the upcoming R2 and being incorporated into their software stack, Scout could probably get a decent bulk discount which would help Rivian get a better deal as well. With both vehicles releasing around the same time, there's a possibility discussions are being had behind the scenes.

Well he’s a pretty rich hvac contractor. And he has nothing better to do. He has a Rolls Royce, a Denali Truck, a Land Rover , a Cadillac Escalade V Series, then a jacked up mini cooper, and lastly the moke. He uses it for display lol.

Ohh and I forgot his Tomberlin Golf Cart
Well he took out the moke in snow. After he plowed his driveway and put all the snow my neighbors lawn.

That moke looked dangerous out there. It was slipping and sliding. Need less to say you are paying for a golf cart that has a metal "body" and Uncomfortable plastic seats. Yep thats right plastic seats. 25k or 50k they are a horrible investment.
