Bigger frunk

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

From the videos I've seen online. The frunk looks a bit small. It doesn't look big enough to fit luggage. I thought the purpose of a frunk was to give extra storage. Having the frunk as a seating area is fine but more front storage space would be optimal.

Welcome! Take a look around, the search feature is a great start in finding topics covered over the last few years, and give Jamie@scoutmotors a follow to stay up to date on the latest information and sneak peeks on what's to come. The frunk was ample spacious IMO but I guess that can depend on what you plan to carry. At some point, there was mention that it was large enough to carry a golf bag + gym bag and something else? Thanks to CYURE, she posted this image during her visit of the slide out tailgate.

Don't forget about that space under the slide out.

There’s companies that make luggage that fits into different car trunks and fills up all the space. I remember looking at some for our Miata. I’m hoping once they have frunk dimensions public one of those companies makes a 3 or 4 piece orange Scout luggage set that fits in the frunk.

Welcome aboard. There are already member saying the vehicle is too big. frunk is a result of what space is left and its bonus storage. These vehicles are 85% locked in so changing frunk is likely only happening if they did extra room after all critical components are accounted for

Here is the custom luggage that comes with the Corvette 70th.

I'm certain the Scout frunk is no smaller than the Lightning frunk. We can fit luggage for two for two weeks in the Lightning frunk with space for our emergency gear, an induction camp stove, and a camping table. Filling in the nooks and crannies with tools completes the space.

With how the frunk currently is, which to me seems massive, I can't see how you could make it any bigger without redesigning the entire front and making the whole vehicle bigger. We looked at a Kia EV9 the other week, now that's a small frunk!
Seeing them in person the vehicles don’t need to be any bigger. That’s surprising with the EV9. That’s their biggest one right?

It is their biggest EV, it only opens up kind of in the middle area so there seems to be a lot of wasted space around it. I assume how they have the electronics and other stuff in the front must mean there isn't much room left for a large frunk.

I said this on here before somewhere, but I have an idea. When you buy a Coach bag online they have a tool that shows you the bag and common items you would put in it. You select how full you want the bag to be and then select items and it will tell you what fits.

It would be fun if Scout had something similar for the frunk and cargo area.

And yes I have that purse. It’s not my main bag, that one is all YELLOW!

It just occurred to me that overloading your frunk would not be an issue with the Scout. Just pull the lid down as far as possible, then bunge-cord the hood tie-down points to the front recovery points and voila, you are a real Scout redneck.
The vision in my head of this made me laugh. gotta believe that will probably happen. :ROFLMAO:

That smells like an opportunity: let’s explore what the frunk can hold—and build a campaign around its unique storage potential. I found this on SM Traveler page of the cargo.
