Is there a reason it needs to be locked. It’s not like people can steal your electricity, right? Is there something this non-EV owner isn’t considering?

Ha! Great question! I have no clue. I have left it unlocked since day one just for convenience sake and the same reason you stated. The port itself locks with the doors too. That is important though as someone could technically unplug you while you’re charging.

My hard and honest review:
it looks like Slate took a new defender and a old defender and moved some details around, made the panels flat and gave them a slight round over by the belt line. And tried to make it cool but failed hard. Jeff is gonna be a failure of 2 weeks. Poor guy. It’s only gonna be 25k because the presses for machining them are gonna have no bends. And they are built on one platform from what I’m understanding. It looks like they are all built like the pickup we saw a week ago. And then they are putting on a different shell. With some interior.
This is also probably why they stopped the exclusive deal with Rivian Delivery Vans.

Looks like a rip off of a defender meets Bronco. Can’t wait to see the range at that price. Not my cup of tea. I think I’d have just done a bright paint job and sat a stuffed animal gorilla on top. Exactly. A Defender Sport basically is what it looks like to me. I can’t imagine what features it’s going to have for that price. Definitely not for me.
What ever keeps the cost down. I haven’t seen anything about a Slate factory yet, so for all we know they will be using the infamous paint pools. Which I am proud to believe Scout won’t be using since in all the photos I have seen of the paint show I didn’t see anything massive pits.Ford model T approach for colors
