Scout Concepts in Cambridge, MA, October 16-18, 2026

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Did they say what happens if it rains? What’s the precautions? I’m sure @CP1@scoutmotors doesn’t want to be scrubbing and cleaning the Scouts multiple times a day.
He’s lucky I got my emotions in check after I got my first eyeful of the Traveler because I definitely got a little sand in my eye. I’m a very messy crier.

Nooooooooooo! I had my alarm set for 5:45, intending to get up, wash up, and get going so I could get an early start and go check out Mountainside and hopefully find a handicapped parking spot somewhere (I did yesterday, except today it’s in a new location with a couple of nebulous public lots). The alarm woke up my cat. It woke up my mom. It woke me up, briefly. I then went back to sleep. Looks like I picked the wrong night to try out a new sleep medication. ALAS. I can’t decide if this means I’m hosed or not. Decided I’m in no rush and worst case, I go tomorrow.

Exactly. You get there when you get there.

I gotta say, I was a little skeptical about hearing "oh wow, they look so much better in person!"

But I was wrong and will admit that. They do.

The new car smell got me. The interior really does look much better in person, and these things are going to be beasts (in a very good way). So cool to meet some of the Scout team tonite, and to meet J Alynn and Scoutsie too. Lots of fun dorking-out on Scout for an hour or two.
Super glad you got to see them finally. Being a long time R1 owner how do you feel now about the Gen 3 R1's? Have you been or are you now 100% sold on Scout? Also you didn't mention the Terra, were you able to see it as well? If so, thoughts compared to R1T?

Oh I've seen this before. I dub this the "Scout Shrug" :ROFLMAO:

I did not get the chance to see the Terra up close and personal like we did with the Traveller, but we saw enough of the interior of the Traveller to know that will not be an issue and that it is very well thought-out and perfectly "appointed" for my tastes, with a bit more interior room. The bench seat is something that I'm thinking hard about for the Terra. Sort of loved having the bench in my old Silverado 2500.

The Terra is an entirely different animal (at least from what I can tell) from the R1T. I know there are similarities, but it has a much bigger "presence" and seems to me to be a little more "no non-sense" and utilitarian than the R1T - a bit more ruggedized. I've said this before here I think, but the R1T is almost too nice for me. Feels too nice for a truck to do work or truck things so I worry about it too much. The SW and U/I UX have all been great. Support has been great, but I also have not seen anything related to the Gen3 R1T. I'm guessing

What I love about the Terra is the roll-down rear window, the bigger bed, more interior space and potentially a more traditional truck suspension that will be a bit more hardened. But that is a trade-off. The Rivian rides like a dream, but way more moving parts and complexity. The Terra will probably "feel" much more like a truck to drive. What we have seen from the U/I stuff looks good - I'm not one of those people that loves or hates screens or buttons, the mix feels appropriate. I don't have a real "deal-breaker" list based on what I have seen with the Terra so far - it all looks great,

Do you have info on the Gen3 R1's?

No, I haven't seen anything regarding the Gen3 yet. I have a feeling Rivian will keep it under wraps so R2 gets as much of the spotlight for as long as possible.
