Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Color is such a personal choice. I also hope their colors are unique to Scout. I hope no one is able to say, oh that’s the same color as such and such vehicle.
I agree with this 100%. I like that Scout has show us colors and interiors no one else has so far. I'd like it to keep that way. I want my Scout to look like a Scout and nothing else!

A few people have a strong preference for the butter yellow but, it doesn’t seem to have mass appeal according to this poll.

At this point, I’m thinking pacific mist but, waiting to see what’s going to be an available. Just as important to me, I’m looking forward to the decals that will be available.
I’m on the fence about graphics so very excited to see what is offered. Loved the ghost graphics on the Tahitian they did but not wanting something as stark and contrasting as the Spirit of ‘26 (looked great-just not my thing). Still hoping for a medium blue paint color unless PBY is like my original Siam color

I'm all over the place on colors, I do know I want something other than black, white, silver, grey etc. I want people to look and say what is that!

Was taking a 5 minute break on FB and found this. I do t care what @cyure says-this is the pale butter yellow color we need. This completely feels like the color of our ‘77 we had when I learned to drive

Yeah, that’s the color I’m talking about. That looks very similar to this one I saw at Nats last year that got me hooked on PBY.

See.

I forgot how good the Tahitian Red looked with that ghosted graphic. I've really been leaning Pacific Mist, but seeing the red again gives me pause. My only concern would be that I would like to pick a color that doesn't turn out to be the one you see all over the place. Tahitian being the reveal color, I could see it being a popular color to order.

Agree. I think people imprinted on that color like a baby duck on its mama.

Exact same fear and it is my favorite so far

I feel that way but ironically. Nearly 2 years and NOBODY talks about the launch color of the Terra. That matte blue was a beautiful color in person but nobody talks about it. I think Tahitian was just a great color-so unique.

I agree. I’m not a big fan of orange but, the traveler in orange does look nice.
My thoughts exactly. Im not a big fan of orange(ish) colors on vehicles, but when I saw the Traveler in orange…aka Tahitian Red….I couldn’t stop thinking about it. As of right now, that would be my go to color (with a contrasting roof color if available) when ordering day arrives. Pacific Mist is VERY close to changing my mind. The white and silver colors they have shown on recent concepts are also very attractive. Can’t wait to see what else they’re cooking up in design studio!

The decision on color is going to be so hard for me. Not because I don't know what I like. I like color. I really want a colorful Traveler. Orange is my favorite color so that would be amazing. But I'm very concerned about three things. One, will I get sick of it? This Traveler is going to be my daily driver. I'm not going to have it as long as many of you, but I don't need an excuse to trade it in any earlier than I already will. Two, how will that affect resale value? If I get some oddball color (see Compass Yellow from Rivian) will that reduce it's trade value? Three, which color will everyone have? Whatever it is, I don't want it. Not because it won't be awesome (it will!) but I want something very few others have if I'm going to pay as much as I think I might have to.

I'm leaning PacMist or Silo Green right now. Silo Green has the slight lead due to it being close enough to army green for government work (I work for the government so I get to say that) even though it'll show more dirt. I'm afraid PacMist would be too silver. But if they make a more blue version of it for production, I'd have a conversation with myself.

Too both of your points-I think of Tahitian as Orange as well but it is more of a copper orange over maroon. I think there would actually be room some day for Scout to go more orange, not cyber orange like original release broncos but a lighter copper gold orange and it wouldn’t compete. For argument sake-it is Tahitian RED but photos all skew it to coppery so I too think of it like rusty orange in the best way possible. So maybe at some point there will be room for a coppery orange as well

Again, similar thoughts. I worry the bright/ special colors will get old after some point or they will not age as well compared to some other traditional colors. The overall design of the Traveler and Terra look like they will age well, so that helps! I’m all about keeping my future Traveler as long as I can. So from interior/exterior colors, and wheels, I hope to make it look as timeless as possible.

This is why I hope they have all the colors of the rainbow. Everyone’s opinion on color is so different. Having seen so many of the OG Scouts I really think of color as being timeless. When you see them all lined up at an event and you see blues and greens and oranges and reds and YELLOWS, it’s just a sight to behold. I guess I just don’t want a row of Scouts to look like a new car lot where everything is white, black and grey with a red or blue sprinkled in.

Good point. I definitely think vintage vehicles carry their color well throughout time and that’s what makes them special 👌 hoping for many great colors to come from this new era of Scout!

100%. I think, however, it took some time for those Scout colors to feel timeless. They feel timeless now, but I'm guessing that in 1989, they felt dated. That's my concern. Seeing @jdm111er.28078 's charge above (thanks for that!), I'm leaning towards Silo Green so I can be one of the 1.5%. 😎

Well I’m in it for the long haul with my Traveler. I plan on having her long enough that she becomes an OG Scout.

I’m hoping for some unusual colors as I find white, black and silver boring….
