New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

I really like the “Mountainside” a lot - a personal favorite (hope it will be a selection?). Wondering if it helps solve the “too-wide-for-me” setup that may appear on other Traveler models - I live near a long narrow road with delivery vehicles and trucks that will cream extended side mirrors. So, does the Mountainside allow a bit narrower extended full width? (Or digital interior-placed side mirrors available as an option down the road to narrow down the total width just a bit?)

Welcome to the community! SM hasn’t said anything about Mountainside being any skinnier than the Trail-ready version, just shorter due to the lack of tire carrier. I would anticipate 79.9 body and 91 at the mirrors. The length will be reduced from 207 to 190.

Now I did ask when I went to the SC event if they knew the width with folded mirrors. They didn’t have an exact answer, other than to say probably midpoint between 79.9 and 91 so they stated 84 to 85 with the mirrors folded.

Probably folding mirrors is about the thinnest you’ll get with these first models…. Maybe a smaller (all the way around) in future models…

I might be wrong, but I don't think OEM's produce any vehicles with side mirrors deleted, due to local laws requiring physical side mirror(s) in order to be considered street legal.

That’s what I thought too. I think that new Cybercab thing has no side mirrors but I don’t think they actually got permission to do that.

Pretty sure US law requires physical side view mirrors. Did not think this design was any narrower - if anything it is wider because the wheels look like they are spaced out wider.

Pretty sure US law requires physical side view mirrors. Did not think this design was any narrower. Thought at first perhaps they were spaced out further, but they are still flush with the top of the wheel well. Perhaps some other concepts had running boards that were more pronounced.

I said not half-bad, also maybe not half-good? SOMEONE was asking for bold, non-grey, white, or black color options! If @cyure can lobby for PBY, why not SFG! Might look better on it's own ; that is a lot of green with the boat. Maybe a light roof. It would appeal to the pacific surfer crowd.

For coastal areas this would be a unique color and suspect there would be a lot of potential buyers
