Popular Common Builds?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I don’t get the allure of the bench seat. Maybe it’s just me, but I want quality captain seats up front. At 6’8” I’m just hoping I fit in the new Scout!
Flexibility of use. I have had 2 trucks in a row with bench seats up front and have used them more times than I can count. Using one 13mpg pig seems more efficient than using 2, 20 mpg pigs to move 6 people.

Also, with bucket seats I can’t get my honey slid right up next to me. That alone is worth it for me.

Are you talking gallons of honey? That’s a lot of honey. I usually just buy the little bottle shaped like a bear 🤣

I think the bench is nostalgia or a flex if you work from your vehicle-like a construction foreman or site inspector or a laptop station when sitting at your kid’s practice. Also good flex if you regularly bring home young kid’s friends. I dont do any of that and while I think the bench is cool and great for a lot of people, I too want the buckets, just more appealing at my age
For me, the bench seat is AATP. All about the pups!

I do legitimately like honey that much. 🍯 At any given time we have multiple jars and bears in the house...

But no, to get sappy, I mean the sweetest thing in my life, my wife. Cue the "awwwwws" 😆
I knew what you meant and glad she still enjoys riding shot gun with you. Now the honey thing-maybe an electric dispenser 😀

Oh hey, I have a comment on color for the “common build”. As much as I would love it I know they all can’t be PBY off the line first.

However, this got me thinking. There was a video when the Lucid Gravity came off the line to their first 8 to 10 owners or so and they had a big to do about it. They were all the same grey. All of them

Please SM don’t do that. Arrange it so there’s a line of different color Scouts as the first deliveries. Some with tire carriers. Some without. Some with racks. Some with rails. Some with nothing. And all different colors if possible. That’s going to be an image that goes out everywhere when owners finally get their deliveries and you want people to see themselves in the different builds. Not just all the same grey Mountainside or grey Trail Ready.

Please and thank you.

Excellent marketing opportunity as well. With the variations we're seeing from everyone on here already, there's no way they couldn't potentially make that happen. Honestly, even if it makes the process take a little longer, great photo opp.

Exactly. The modern version of Nats would be great to see.

Oh they could have OG Scouts in a line with their owners and then a line of new Scouts and their owners in similar colors.

See how great they looked at Nats last year all in a row and no two alike. (A PBY thrown in for good measure. Isn’t she beautiful!)

I stayed at a hotel last year that had a very nice breakfast Buffett. On it was a metal tray tipped on an angle under a glass cover and they had an entire honey comb on it and then a drip tube and handle like the valve on a fancy drink cooler. Was super cool. Wish I would have taken a picture. Attached is similar idea but no where near as fancy

This was posted long ago. Should be done as a modern version

I imagine the forum will be flooded with new pics as buyers start receiving theirs

I hope so. And new owners should be encouraged to join the forum if they aren’t already. That way they have a place to go for questions and concerns rather than just yelling into the void of the internet for help.
I would presume by then there will be threads or sub headings for “what to know” and how to service but yes to your point. They almost have to since our accounts are tied to all SM stuff they want us having access to

Lol I know... but figured I might as well make it totally clear haha.

Yes... YES, an electric dispenser would make my life so much easier.
How about this? It’s for wood glue but the consistencies are about the same. Squeeze and it feeds from the bottom. Drains back in when done. None of that messy/annoying dripage/shaking stuff.

Ironically I have one of those, but it just didn't work like I wanted it to. I don't know why, but I had all sorts of trouble with that.
