Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

I've heard Dodge EREV is also using a larger battery pack and that capacity is unlocked and used ONLY during towing. The pure EV range and full battery capacity is reduced in normal driving.

Can you provide a reference for this? That sounds more like competative FUD than something that Dodge would say.

Check out the article in post #52. Dodge has a 91.8 kWh battery pack with 69.7 kWh is usable in providing 145 miles of EPA range. Also, check out this YouTube on how Dodge is using the hybrid powertrain. The extra 10%-20% battery kWh is used for reserve to maintain hp/tq/EPA close as it can to empty performance to give you the same in full cargo or tow mode.

 
This is exactly what I started doing last summer and this one too. I really paid close attention to how many stops and how long. An EV for me to get from Houston, TX to Sturgis, SD would potentially be the same exact stops for nearly the same exact times.
We are learning this quickly with the new Lexus EV. But we also don’t do the 6-8 hour non-stop runs anymore so the stopping/taking break/eating (usually more than once) ends up being all but the same. The Hudson trip last weekend maybe added 15 minutes to a 4 hour trip when you factor in a meal break so I think we are already realizing it isn’t a huge impact-but I understand others want to do a 12 hour day. 20+ years ago I did that as well but not any more

This recent trip back home I wanted to stop just south of Fort Worth... but my wife insisted to keep going so we could sleep in our own beds that night, haha. That would have been a 12 hour drive if we'd stopped... It was 16 hours nearly to the minute. But yea, most of our stops are around the 20 minute mark by the time we get all situated back in the vehicle and everything... so I think it wouldn't be that much impact. Maybe 1-2 more stops in the whole grand scheme.

And to be fair, I'm talking Nebraska to Texas... going to SD adds a whole extra 6-7 hours or driving.
