Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’m sorry, but this is nuts.

The weird part to me here is that some people didn't know that this was a temporary price. When Elon said that it was a 10 day only price. I had a buddy who actually was looking into the CT apparently due to this price drop, but he was surprised when I showed him it was for 10 days only.

To be clear, I don't agree with the strategy at all, and I'm not a fan of the CyberTruck at all either. And I also think that this weird price changing strategy will cause more harm than good. It was sort of a early release discount... but it wasn't really advertised like that. And also the vehicle has been on the market for a few years now, so its not landing as well as it would have back when it was released.

I mean, if they'd dropped a $60k awd model at release, only for those with pre-orders, I actually think they would have had a better reception from the public. This arriving later... I'm not sure its going to do much good.

But I will also say that when I saw a $60k awd cybertruck, I thought "oh, maybe they'll actually start selling some now". But given that was 10 days long, and they say that deliveries of said trucks might not happen until 2027... I don't think this is going to move the needle much for them.

Wait I only read the headline on this. So if you bought it at the discount you don’t get your truck till next year??

I am not sure I would even ride in one much less buy one.

From the article there.

If I were one of the sickos who was actually interested in the Cybertruck the first thing I would say to a salesperson is "I know you can sell them at 60k, why should I spend 70k on it?"

This, for sure. And why I don't think that this will help keep demand up now that the price point is higher again.

I am not sure I would even ride in one much less buy one.

I definitely wouldn't buy one. I don't know anyone with one, so I guess I'd have to think about the riding in one part :D.

Now that I think about it, I haven't ever actually even sat in a Tesla of any sort.

It’s just ok. Kinda underwhelming.

Seeing this article and the subtle hints Jamie and CP1 made the past few weeks at the Scout Traveler spirit of ‘76 AI from the Olympics that was posted. I’m wondering if maybe we’ll see the Terra dressed up instead of the traveler that I was starting to think might happen?
