I wouldn’t say confirmation, but in one of the interviews I watched I don’t remember which one the person going over the interior was talking about the line of sight from the driver seat and how a HUD would just get in the way or something like that

Same. I find them as a distraction most of the time, and tbh I don't really understand the hype around HUD.
All I care about is digital speedometer. It’s a personal preference, but I’m a weenie about trying to guess about where the needle on a speedometer is hitting. Digital readout isn’t ambiguous. Maybe it’s not 100% accurate because blah blahblahblahblah (I read a whiny thing about why my beloved kettle is apparently not in fact the super-best kettle because OH NO TWO DEGREES OFF FROM THE OPTIMAL 100 DEGREES CELSIUS NEEDED FOR PERFECT BLACK TEA, CALL MI6, GET OUR BEST MEN ON IT) but if it’s within a reasonable margin of error of like +-2 to 4, fine.

Well, here’s what I can say for a HUD from my personal experiences preferences and that is I’ve been told to slow down many times in school zones because when I’m in a school zone, I prefer to keep my eyes up on the road and my surroundings because I have a lot better reaction time at what feels like a slower speed which around 2025 then constantly looking down to make sure I’m doing 10 to 15 miles an hour having a hood puts that information directly in front of you while you’re still monitoring the road with less of a look away from the road at least in my personal experience and then there’s navigation where you can have your directions right in front of you on the road so to speak
I’ve grown to really like it in our cars. It’s for sure odd at the beginning but then it becomes an effective devise to keep eyes up and forward. Can live without but I’d be happier to have it
Exactly I can live without it myself, but if someone who uses my GPS 90% of the day, I wouldn’t mind having my directions right in front of me while I’m looking down the road
They do have ones you can add aftermarket that project usually just the speed.

I don’t think I could ever I was tempted to add the aftermarket driving assistant. I forget what it’s called but my Bolt accepts it but I can’t even be bothered with adding a mount to put my phone on. I don’t like putting things in my car like that specially if they have to be wired in anyway otherwise I would have a dash cam already mounted in my car, but it’s just been sitting in the garage for six months
The horizontal design of the dash with the bench seat (and Harvester) is what actually sold me. I was thinking not long before the reveal that I really wished designs would go back to more horizontal looking instead of vertical inside and out. Interestingly all the gigantic grills in the last 5 or so years have gone back to being more horizontal as well.
