Delivery Options

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Does anyone know how we are going to get our new Scouts delivered? Will they be delivering directly to our homes? Would we have to pick up somewhere else regionally or would we have the option of picking up at the factory? I personally wouldn’t mind picking it up there, taking a tour of the factory, picking up some cool merch and driving home to Florida.

This is the information from Scout on State delivery. Factory delivery is also going to be offered.

Okay well now I have a question. If you buy it in another state do you pay your state taxes and fees in the purchase of your car or do you have to go to the DMV in your state and pay the taxes and register your car?

When purchasing out of state, you pay the taxes and registration for the state where the vehicle will reside. These costs are calculated during the purchasing process. All of this can be done electronically online now before actually stepping foot in a showroom. Picking up a Scout at the factory should be pretty simple as long as all the paperwork is completed ahead of time.

Welcome again if I haven’t already. There are numerous conversations here in the forum on various threads. If you use the search button and keyword delivery you’ll likely find hours worth of discussions. Check it out. The search is great for finding any topics you might have interest in. Odds are over past three years if it’s a legit Scout question, it’s been discussed. Now if your curious about one off things like how many rotisserie chickens will fit in the back of a traveler-then you’ll likely have to ask.

So the purchase would be completely done and when we pick up our Scouts it’s just fun, not dealing with anything financial? If that’s correct, YAY!

Since I have not seen anyone else mention it yet...

There have been several people in this forum that requested the ability to pick up their Scout at the factory in South Carolina. The official response from Scout has been "we are looking into it." So you are not alone in your desire to do a factory pick up, but there is no official word yet if that will be an option. I think the main issue is that South Carolina still has laws that prevent direct to consumer vehicle sales.

What made the BMW experience really cool-beyond the track stuff was the delivery center has a large entry and three individual glass bays and each person’s car was in a separate bay. I guess because mine was the “fancy one” mine was in the main entry so when we walked in as a group everyone went -Oooohhhh! And I had that 5 second moment of -yeah-that’s mine 😀. But they went through the entire vehicle, front to back, top to bottom, set up my phone and made sure everything was perfect. Even called my wife from the car to test the phone. It was a very personal experience and considering it was 13 years ago I still remember it like yesterday so that’s how I know they did it right.

Okay now that sounds amazing. Ohhh what if our scouts were parked with a tire up on a rock or something like they do at the Jeep dealers.

I liked your original idea of parking them next to your lodging location on property. Realizing some covered shed corrals could be built for inclement weather I’d rather find mine and have the delivery experience be completely outdoors. And while wishing-maybe a nice size retention pond that is stocked with fish so the evening before when you arrive you could fish and enjoy the outdoors. Then wrap the night with s’mores and bourbon 😀

Sounds great to me. As long as we get some nonalcoholic bourbon from NKD I’m down. I’ll even bring some of my homemade marshmallows for the s’mores.

If Scout allows for factory pickup and you complete the transaction online like Tesla and Rivian do currently, then yes.

Good point, Scout hasn't mentioned if factory pickup will be an option yet. Since the purchase will likely be done over the internet in the state in which you reside there should be no issue picking up the keys at the factory, if it's allowed. In this event the purchase is not being conducted at the factory. But I'll await more information from Scout on how payment and deliveries will happen.

I say we take delivery, throw some canoes on top of our Scouts and go for a real adventure in the wild.

Screw the stocked pond with hatchery fish.

Let's hit the river.
